Hi,
Does anyone know is there is any software to verify a OEM ISO download? It is XP Pro.
When I mean Verify, I mean to check it's not been tampered with.
Thanks

Where did you download it from? Surely the provenance of the ISO will prove its authenticity?0

Well full OEM versions of XP aren't officially available (I don't think) unless they are paid for. There are of course 'free' versions that are fine from you know where....0 -
It's not the disc that's the issue, as long as you have a working and valid license number then it's fine. You can use any XP Pro disc.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0

Yes, I am acquiring a copy, but was just wondering whether there was any software out there that checks and verifys the contents haven't been tampered with.
The Laptop has a Geniune OEM COA for Windows XP Pro but someone has installed a retail version of XP Pro for god knows why, and obviously they are having problems with it and have passed it to me.
I have tried to change the ID to accept the Genuine COA but it is not having none of it due to being retail installation but OEM COA.0 -

It won't accept the code on the laptop, won't let me enter it. I have tried getting it to change the code using various methods but no joy. However it accepts the Retail code but then problem arises when running updates as WPA says it's not genuine.0 -
I would be VERY cautious about doing this... And just to point out, this would be an illegally distributed copy. Your local computer shop might be able to loan you one may be?0
