When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. :D

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:money:

Gooood morning everyone:wave:
Lovely to new lots of new posters appearing - welcome to you all:hello:
So, off to work again for me. I am planning on walking and not using the car today, but dd1 wasn't well last night - had a temperature and headache. So if she stays off school I shall drive so I can nip home for lunch and see how she is:)

Ok, time for my list:
  • check banking
  • check onepoll
  • packed lunches to work
  • heating off
  • meal from plan tonight - spag bol
  • take mince out of freezer
  • No more spending - just had to buy dd1 a fancy dress outfit off ebay. But nothing else will leave my account today;)
  • switch things off when not using
Right, better get my face on:D
Have a great day all of you:A
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Morning all

Thanks for starting the thread Pixie and thanks to everyone for the warm welcome yesterday :).

Did most of the stuff on my list yesterday. Didn't do too well with the surveys and Onepoll, as I got a last minute job that was double the fee :j. Got that and the other one finished though.

    So, today's list is:
    • [STRIKE]Check banking[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]One job today, but again a bit of a long one.[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Do any surveys that come in[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Apply the Amazon voucher that To Luna finally sent me to my account.[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]My foundation has finally run out (been squeezing every last drop out), so check my stash of cosmetics to see if I have another lurking somewhere. If not then order one from Amazon with the above voucher.[/STRIKE] - Found one that feels like it has quite a bit left :)
    • [STRIKE]NSD[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Have free bingo playing in the background[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Do a load of washing and hang on airer to dry.[/STRIKE]

Think that is it - have a fabulous day everyone :D

  • Good morning, ladies!

Pernie - whew, that does sound like a lot of work! I dont really see myself as the marrying type (my parents never tied the knot but are still happily together 26 years later...), so if anyone ever talks me into it I'll be going for the registry office affair and my sister has already made me promise to let her make my dress :) I'm sure your big day will be worth all the faf though!
Pix - Hope DD feels better. How old is she?
DNMS - maybe bring a crumble? cheapo, wont take you long and everyone loves it...

Have the princely sum of 96p in my current account today and not a fleck of lint in my wallet, roll on payday!!!

Came home yesterday to find that the boyfriend had eaten half the leftover chili that was meant to feed the three of us. Restrained myself from strangling him (see why there is no wedding on the cards, pernie? :)) and instead stir fried the leftovers with a few extra tomatoes added and the leftover rice - turned into a very filling and tasty pilaf thingy, and was easily enough to fill us all.

    Today:
    - breakfast from stores
    - bike to work and everywhere I need to go
    - roommie making risotto tonight, freeloading on that :)
    - check to see if expenses have come through
    - work like a madwoman as loads on
    - work on business stuff in eve

    Happy tuesday everyone.
