When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. :D

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Hi everyone :hello:

I hope we are all feeling good today. It is a brand new day after all, and a Friday so that makes it extra better :D

I'm keeping up with the small things by:
-Checked banking
-Checked c/c
-Made more than min payment to a c/c
-Waiting till I get to work to have a cuppa
-Walking to work - paid no bus fares this week :T
-Made HM pizzas - but we bought bases - might try making our own dough next
-Knitting a bday pressie
-Procured a free crochet pattern for friend's baby pressie

Keeping it simple ;)

Morning! Thanks for starting of the thread.

I have finally cleaned out the cupboard under the sink and have given myself a personal challenge not to buy anymore cleaning products until the ones I have are used up! It doesn't matter if the one on the shelf of the supermarket promises to clean in half the time, smell better or make things look like new!

I've also cleaned the oven, using up the nearly finished oven cleaner found in the cupboard, leaving me two more tins to get through, I will never have to buy again, given how often I clean the oven!

    Here's the list:

    • Start preparing for first assignment on course
    • Do the 500
    • Check bank and update spreadsheet
    • Peg out washing
    • All meals from stores
    • Pay vet bill
    • Make a meal plan and shopping list
    • Go riding

    See you later
