You say you keep getting knocked back. How many other cards have you applied for?
If you have never had a card before the chances of your getting MandS or Tesco are virtually nil. You are applying for the wrong type of card. Assuming you have a bank account, approach your own bank. Otherwise, try a sub-prime or credit buil;der card then apply for a better card later when you have built up an established history of credit card use.0 -
