Vodafone - possible to have account in credit?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this query - if I had a vodafone contract costing £20 p/m with 10 months left to run and no longer wanted to use the account, would it be possible to credit my account with £200 so that the remaining payments would be taken from the credit balance rather than by direct debit?

I think that you can do this with any account. However, AFAIK with Vodafone you can save about 1/6 if you just cancel the contract and pay the Early Termination Charge.0

This was my first thought - you don't have to pay VAT on early terminations, however, my line rental is discounted by 50%, and apparently if you terminate early the discount isn't applied so I would have to pay considerably more this way (i.e. full line rental minus the VAT, instead of 50% of the line rental plus the VAT)0 -
You still pay VAT, only it is reduced slightly to reflect the reduced cost of the call bundle (which isn't used). The VAT on line rental remains at 20%0

Hi ilikewatch,
If you are just wanting to pay off the remainder of your contract, you can make a payment to us for the full amount and each time the bill is produced it would deduct it from the credit on your account.
Alternatively, if you did want to pay the ETF (Early Termination Fee) and cancel then the discount would not come into effect.
If you would like to contact me to discuss your options, you can do so via the email address here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject.
Kind regards,
Heidi
