    You have been warned !

    Haha, it is

I know someone who had a minor illness(can be a big one if not looked after properly) who for years tried to claim DLA by making out her illness was ssooo bad, and incidently not taking her medication properly, so it added to the effect.

    They kept turning her down.

Fast forward , this person has now been given DLA(under her made up stories), but has now acquired various non related illnesses since then

Well she did wish for ill health, in a round about way, Thats what she got.

I reported someone online. I didn't think they had taken any notice so I did it again about 6 months later. I know it was definitely looked into and the person in question is not getting benefits any more

Relative got investigated for benefit fraud (and yes, she was cheating the system - it wasn't a false rumour) - nothing was ever done, she hasn't had to repay anything back (she's the sort who'd yell and scream about being hard done by if they had sanctioned her). If she starts trying that rubbish again - I'll report her in a heartbeat and I'm not scared if she finds out about it to be honest.

i am on the other side of the coin having been maliciously reported twice to the help-line, am currently gettig help from the CAB relating to the latest one- i as a benefits recipient have no qualm with people checking my claims etc as i know i am fully within the law- but even still it is very stressful when you are called in for a maicious report, i would prefer it if you had to give your details when reporting so as to put off malicious reports but obv keeping the details confidential from those being reported.

I have to agree, malicious reports can be seriously hurtful and cause all sorts of problems. Giving details would a)mean they could reward people if prosecution was successful (thus encouraging people to do the right thing) and b)identify people who make repeated false allegations and prosecute them for wasting time and money (and means innocent people won't get their lives !!!!ed up)

I would not report someone for "benefit fraud", difficult to explain why, just would make me feel uncomfortable.

I have however once reported someone to the NSPCC as I felt their kids were being abused, and was concerned.

If l saw someone pinching the purse of another person l'd do something to raise the alarm. Is it any different if it's done behind closed doors?

I think that's called turning a blind eye... so you think it's OK to commit fraud?

Where would you draw the line on ignoring criminal behaviour?
