Decent garden sprayer?
Can anybody recommend a garden sprayer? One about 4l capacity.
My Last one was ok for a short while but then gave only a pathetic spray. I dismantled it, cleaned it and re-assembled but still very poor and not a patch on an old one I used to have. It does function, is not blocked but either gives a feeble spray or jet.
What I need is one with a bit of power that will give a nice even fan spray! Must be one out there so any help and advice would be appreciated.

What's a sprayer? Silly question - is this for chemicals etc? (I ask because I don't use chemicals at all...) I do have a 99p hand sprayer with soap in it though (so I do use some chemicals)Tim0

Hi Tim, For such things as greenhouse cleaning ( I use Citrox) or spraying the garden plants with seaweed extract, soap, garlic solution etc etc. all along organic principles and beneficial to growing success!0

Never even thought of using a sprayer, I just use a watering can that's patched up with duct tape or the aforementioned 99p wilkos jobbie.Tim0

watering can very inefficient, Tim....0

4l will be quite heavy unless you use it with some sort of harness.
I use this type of thing (available at wilkos etc)

Its a fairly generic low cost item has a good range and spray pattern. I keep one for the greenhouse and another for outside/around the house. Worth considering at least.0 -

That's true if you just sprinkle it over the top, I've installed piping around the base of the plants so I water the roots. Most things in the garden don't get watered to develop deeper root structure. My garden seems to have a very low water table, as soon as I get down about a meter I get water gushing into holes.
Most my beds are raised, so the pipes work well.
In the greenhouse (once it's built!) we'll be using wicking mats
The salad will be watered by a drip hose from the IBCs I've installed.
Well, that's the plan...Tim0 -
Thanks Alanobrian. Certainly cheap compared to the !!!!!! sprayers. Will give it some though but I think I might need bigger capacity and strap.0

Hozelock are superior sprayers and I use them in and around the house. Last for years unlike the 99p that are pretty useless over time imo. For gardening work I bought this last year and it seems pretty good and well priced... B & Q pressure spray aa008482 green 5litre0
