Hi all, sorry it's getting tough at the end of the month guys but stick with it. At least by posting our spends and keeping our receipts we can see where we're going wrong.
Went to Mr A today as I needed cheap petrol and as the store is at the other side of town, combined the two. Have managed to cut back to 1 tank a month which I'm really pleased about as I have a stupidly big car due to having a stupidly big dog!
They had the pataks pastes on offer so stocked up on them, also some veg, frozen stuff, baking stuff and woopsied smoked fish for kedgeree tonight. Spent a total of £27.57.
Got a big pot of bolognaise on the go, bulked out with lentils but haven't really thought it through, there's no room in the freezer! So that'll be tonight's challenge!!:rotfl:
Have a good evening everyone!:DMake £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

If I don't know about it beforehand, I don't count it in that month, just in the annual bit. If you look at my sig, it'll be clearer. HTHLavenderBees wrote: »Like Rising, I'm also concerned that my spend doesn't really include any meat at the moment as the freezer is full (just 1 chicken), so where exactly is the money going?
Thanks both..... I've just been checking up on Feb's spends to try to work out where nearly £140 disappeared tooand I'd forgotten I'd done a big stock up on cleaning stuff as there were great offers on at Mr T...... and think I'm forgetting that I won't need to buy these for ages eg washing liquid & fabric conditioner not needed for a whole year & several other things not needed for around 3/4 months:)
Think I need to have a big sort out in the cupboards or better still, make a list as I've had to put the cleaning stuff in several different places around the house (cupboard under the sink is tiny) and this means I usually forget I've got them:o
I *think* I should have enough meat to do me through to the end of April (so will be extending the March mini-challenge of no meat buying through until then) so ..... it should be OK.
Think I was just having a bit of a panic!:o
I will keep plodding along as just having the monthly budget doesn't work for me at all sadly as, if I overspend in a month, I just restart the next one without any thought of clawing it back ...... so this is def better.

NSD today for me, as part of my fiscal fast. Well, I did have to pay a bill of £7.50, but as that was actually due last Friday, I'm not counting it, and it wasn't gc related anyway.
Had some good news today. Actually, it's great, but not news... I was paying my solicitor £200 per month for a while, for doing my divorce, as I wouldn't have been able to pay each bill when it came. Got to the end of the divorce, and had some money left in the account, but never claimed it back. Finally got round to ringing them today, and they're going to finalise it and send me a cheque. I think there's a few hundred going to be on its way back to me, so that's amazing! (It'll pay for our passports anyway!)
Sausage casserole for dinner tonight, i put in an extra tin of beans, and there's enough left for a big portion each tomorrow, instead of a small bit, then hungry again afterwards. I love that I'm thinking ahead much better than I used to. We had it with pasta tonight, and we'll probably have it with toast or pasta again tomorrow. It'll be a hectic evening, maybe. I have college on a Tuesday, but have the children for the next two tuesdays, instead of them being at their dad's. I've asked a friend if she can sit, which would mean we have to fit in dinner between 5:15 and 5:45 (that's cooked and eaten), but if she can't there's not so much rush.
Had to open a new 4-pack of beans today from the cupboard under the stairs. I now only have one more, so making a dent slowly. I may try and fit that into the pantry anyway, as I'm desperate to sort out the cupboard soon. Roll on the Easter hols!!

Big expense this week as we needed to get a new washing machine but as Ive been careful so far, the money over from Jan and FEb household budget covered it! I also have a little over from the grocery budgeds so I am well chuffed! I need to chase up T££sc£ as my ecoupon didnt go through so I ended up paying a fiver for delivery-not happy about that as I only have deliveries if a voucher covers it. My eldest DD is going out to buy a spending diary after looking at mine today-she was well impressed-but she thought me eccentric a couple of years ago!
So I am pleased for her as a diary will save her a fortune. She has leart to shop separatly from her partner as she ends up spending needlesly when she is with him but I am glad she is aware of this now, and that it isn't going to take her years to find that out! NSD for me yesterday and today.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
