Hi, All
I can't believe we're on page 30 and I am still caught up with the thread...fabulous!
Today I had a small spend that has tipped me over my budget again, but still not concerned (and still not going to adjust my budget) as £100 focuses my mind so well...it's still a huge saving from the £200-£300 a month I used to spend.
I've adjusted my signature. Spends today of £20.50 include £9 at L1dl on various "italian" ingredients (pesto, passata, mozarella etc), £10 on 2 bottles of wine from an independent shop (a friend has been made redundant and just started work at this wine shop so I thought I'd give her a little moral support..), 48p on a gorgeous Northumberland sausage at the butchers, (brekkie on Sunday) and £1.00 on gorgeous "hm" fruit scones from the farm shop.
No real bargains here, but fairly frugal.
Tonight, I'm using up some lentils, eggs and ood coconut milk in a lentil and egg curry from the recipes at the front of this thread :T . I'll probably be freezing 3 portions (without the eggs).
Sat - hm pizza from the freezer (made last week for the 1st time - dough in the bm - absolutely gorgeous - will never buy another sm pizza!)
Sun - roast chicken & veges from the freezer - this will last me to Wed, and I'll also try to freeze some chicken for sandwiches
Thurs - probably hm bolognaise from freezer (portioned up)
Fri - probably oven chips and quiche from freezer with baked beans
Next Sat - I might be inviting neighbours in for a hm pizza and film night (only the pizza will be hm :rotfl:). I'll provide the pizza dough from the bm, and invite them all to do their own toppings. Should be a fugal but fun night.
Keep up the good work everyone. I enjoy reading all your posts :T

Made schoolboy error of 'popping in' to Sainsbury's tonight, didn't need anything really, though there were a few things that I had left over on my shopping list that truthfully I could have done without. Bought 15 free range eggs, more Cadbury's Creme Eggs (I love 'em, and they're only cheep (geddit?) at this time of year), some wine, four boxes of Jordan's cereal bars (on offer), some marjoram, some feta and some goat's cheese so I can have a nice posh self-indulgent salad tonight followed by a giant main course and loads of chocolate and booze. Nectar points meant the whole lot came to £13 - an unnecessary £13, but sod it, I want a night in front of the telly being nice to myself.
Crowned by being asked for ID to buy the wine. I'm 38! I nearly hugged the shop assistant. But that would have been weird, right? :rotfl:
I like the sound of that! Hope you had a lovely evening!
Have updated my sig with wednesday's spend and did my usual fri morning quick shop at Mr M this morning. We'd run out of marg, how did I manage that!! So that added another £4.79.
So I'm up to £129.19 but have everything for DS birthday tea and he has been very specific in his request for chocolate mousse cake (yum:D).
Have a lovely weekend everyone.:)Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

Sorry to hear you have been ill, flu really does wipe you out. Hope you feel better soon but don't push yourself or you will end up wiped out again.
When I am ill I make full use of my Slow Cooker as I can just chuck the things in and set it going or DH can do it before going to work. I don't have to worry about 'proper' cooking.
Make an inventory of what you have in the fridge/freezer/cupboards and see what you can make with what you have in the house and just get what you need to complete those meals. Just go for damage limitation now.
Thanks so much for the advice - I'm the worlds worst at doing nothing and relaxing - a very bad patient!!:rotfl:
I've never owned a SC, but think I might ask for one for my birthday next month as so many people seem to love theirs and use them a lot - as I work full time it might be a real lifesaver for those times when I 'm up against it!
I will go and make an inventory and do some sums - I have to get to the 22nd March, so only a fortnight until next payday with a stuffed fridge and freezer should be entirely possible!
Thanks again for the support and advice:beer:0 -

Awww-sounded fun for a moment-I was going to ask for an invite! Maybe someone will bring some HM films for you!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
I've been using up the fridge contents today and made some salad with an omellete(a big 4 egg one between three of us). I used some peppers from the freezer to add to it.Did us some baked pots also in the microwave. Also made a big lasagne cos DH fancied pasta and wanted a veggie one. Had breakfst pancakes for deset with some lemonjuice-they are so incredibly cheap to make! I have to be brave and tidy up my freezer and try to run it down somewhat it really is a mess. I may pop in Coop tonight for some tomtoes and cucumber but on the other hand I may wait until I can get to Lidl tomorrow. I will try to get some of the Quorn that someone said is on offer. I can vouch for their passata which is about 59p for a one litre large container. The brand on it is XXL Nostia. It's nice and thick and I am tempted to get 6 of them if they have them still! I've been totting up my receipts but haven't put them on my sig yet-still within budget though!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
