spent another £89.13 today ( £65.93 in t3sco and £23.20 in @ldi)
I used a £4 off voucher as well .
I have done a meal plan for the week , so hopefully will not have to buy till next friday
meal plan for this week ( main meals only)
Friday :chicken in cider and cream ( in GC index)with jacket potato
Sat: HM cottage pie , peas and cabbage
Sunday: roast chicken , mash , green beans and peas
Monday: LO chicken into a chicken stew
Tues: sausages , dauphinoise potatoes green beans
Wed: burger in a bun and HM oven chips salad
Thurs: pasta and HM tomato sauce ( fish for me)0 -
Just a quickie from me as I should be working
BUT I know I said I wasn't going to shop until next Friday, and I know I also said I wasn't going to TOUCH one of the big 4 sms, BUT...no, no, wait, there's a really good reason why I broke my own rules...quiet, you lot at the back, enough of the booing and hissing ...
A fellow formiter (is that a word?) who knows I use a bread maker, advised me of a coupon which she must have found on the shopping part of MSE (sorry I don't know how to do links and don't have time to search for the coupon on here, sorry, sorry) for 80p off a Wrights Bread or cake mix. Given that in my Sainsbury the bread mixes are anything from 75p to 97p, that's a massive saving.
So, I couldn't resist and have bought 14 mixes today, which are longdated to July and Aug for the grand total of £1.58 :T. Averaging 11p a loaf, and will keep me supplied with bread for a good few months to come.
Now you're going to say you all knew about this bargain already, aren't you..?
Hope I haven't contravened any thread rules by posting this.
Siggy has been updated, and the really good news is, I didn't even look at anything else - it was a focused hit and run jobbie :rotfl:

Lavenderbees - thanks for that, just printed out a load nad wondering where to get them. Did yours scan ok, how many did you use?
I am doing really well this month, probably due to using mostly meat from the freezer again and having given up Tesco. I cannot believe how much I used to spend there! (Happy to pop in for offers/glitches though!)June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Sorry I have not been posting but my Parents and Grandchildren are taking up most of my time. I still have a week left of my GC and it looks like I will be under again but my petrol budget has been sky high because of hospital visiting so any money left over I will probably split between my petrol fund and xmas GC fund.
The only problem I can find with this GC business is it's having a bad effect on my wasitline as I can't resist all the cakes and biscuits I make.
I will update my total at the end of next week.
I know it sounds silly but when I walk out of the supermarket with only the things I have on my list I feel as though I have won a battle with them.
Keep up the good work everyone.Jan GC £300/£296 :j March GC £375/£336:j

Well, my plan was not to do a stocking up shop at the start of the month, but I had a £7 off £50 shop voucher which expires this Sunday, so I decided to use it. I have updated my signature, and made a point of buying milk to freeze, and larger packs of rice/pasta/cereal etc. In the end I spent £55, of which £45 was groceries and store cupboard.
I will be ignoring the £5 off £40 though, I can't see that I will need it fir next week.
Have stuck to the menu plan this week though, really pleased, as I don't usually manage. On the downside, I tried to make belgian buns and burnt them, but have covered them in icing anyway .... maybe next time.Debt free and saving :j0 -

Hi Ragz
I used mine at Mr S (quite a small one) and they scanned perfectly - used 14 (!). I tried Mr A's this morning but they didn't look like they ever stocked this brand at that branch. Really pleased with my wee bargain, and many thanks to Byatt for the tip off :T0 -

Well done with your Wrights purchases. I am tempted but could really do without cake and have enough bread mixes for a while.
Anyway I am down to £6.14 left for the month. I was out yesterday so did a quick shop then to save using petrol on Saturday as well, but it means I still have a shopping Saturday to contend with - unless I leave it until Sunday 1st April! I've used a lot of petrol this month too, which is very unusual for me but all the miles have needed to be covered at once.
My Lent willpower left me last night, as had to go out for an office function to a TexMex place and the only fish was haddock and chips which didn't hit the spot, so I had chicken instead. I am quite sure I can get through to the first Saturday in April if I really try and then can have a bit of a splurge without feeling guilty about it.

Hi all,
I'd like to aim for £200 this month, as away in Dubai for 10 days of Easter holidays, so should be do-able.
Spent £4.50 in Asda, but £1.20 of that was a tape measure, so will only count £3.30 (Kermit Milk!!!)
On a Frugal Fast now till Friday when we leave, may need bread, but should be using my free bread mixes up instead to make DD14 rolls for school. Saved some ham from last weeks shop, and have bottled h2o in garage, so will b ok.
Freezer is full, and loads of aero desserts to eat!! lacking in fruit, so may see what Aldi have.
Hope all are well, Going to catch up now!!!
