Evening my lovely gc'ers,
Well budget wise so far so good. Space is gradually appearing in the freezer as I am finally using up what I have in there already.
It's all about milk consumption in our house at the moment as we are on a mission to secure a cr4vend4le kermit the frog backpack. In order to achieve this goal we have to drink our way through twenty 2 litre cartons by the middle of April!!! We are just over half way. I can see lots of cheese sauces and milkshakes being consumed in the scrumper household
First veg box of the month came today. The best bits are some purple sprouting broccoli and mandarins or clementines which look lovely.
Will say good night as getting sleepy now xxxxGC Mar 11 £437.08Apr 11 £459.26 May 11 £485.52 June 11 £423.79July 11 £409.22 Aug 11 £250.10Sept 11 £396.14Oct 11 £382.37Nov 11 £372.55Dec 11 £332.29 Jan 12 £375.19:Feb 12 £349.58Mar 12 £279.66Apr 12 £249.12May 12 £337.66/Jun 12 £362.58/Jul 12 £317.03/Aug 12 £354.02/Sept £439.72/Oct 12 £210.160 -

Elsiepac, that coconut milk sounds heavenly, I haven't seen any for sale around here, but I shall check out local health food shops etc and try it.
Rice Dream doesn't separate, but I must tell you Oatly does and homemade oat milk is even worse for separating. For a while I had to drink my tea with a teaspoon permanently lodged in it (it gave me an awful pain in the eye, though, lol - the old jokes are the best, eh).
How do you like your coffee black? I found that a solution to milk decades ago, but for some reason, still need something in my tea. Cereal is really nice with apple juice.
I wonder if it would be cheaper to make your own coconut milk from those tins watered down? Might be worth an experiment, although the tins aren't cheap, but if the water content is increased and the taste is as good as the cartons it might be cheaper.
Hmmm, I am going to try that, thanks for that idea LC!31.5/1000 -

Morning all
Lovely sunny day here, line full of washing and I'm feeling good! Have just totted up my receipts so far this month and balance currently stands at £112.77 out of a budget or £125 with a week to go. £12.23 left to last me till next Friday, but I'm confident I can stay within budget this month. I did a mammoth shop on Wednesday this week, had lots of reduced price bread plau I did some batch cooking so the freezer is bulging. Just off to do my meal plan for the week to ensure I stay in budget - think all I'll be needing is milk for DS and maybe some fruit.
Have a good day all

I spent £14.50 in morrisons yesterday. But all meals are sorted until Monday and even then I just need milk/fruit and veg and potatoes.
I will go over budget but hopefully not by much
Next month should be better as we are out quite a bit during Easter am i have enough washing powder, softner nappies and wipes for the next month.
DD will go back onto packed lunches though so I will have to get more bits in for her0 -
Totally lost the plot this month.
Have no idea how much I have spent and don't get paid for another week - bit of a disaster.
Have been really busy at work and in the evenings and with no meal plan have just popped into the sm whenever I hadn't got anything for the evening meal. On top of that car breakdown cost me £400. One more pay day and I've got to pay for holiday which means I have no choice but to dig into the overdraft to pay for it. I was trying to avoid this at all costs but with the car and central heating breaking down all my plans vanished.
I think I have probably gone over £500 so waaaay over budget. Break up for Easter next week so will try to get a grip on things then.
Hope everyone is enjoying sunshine.Sealed Pot Challenge 2011 / no. 1205 £110 made]Sealed Pot Challenge 2012/no 1205 target £300Jan g/c 355.83/£450

I have £17 of the budget left til next sun - store cupboard and freezer full to busting - just need milk (£2), ham (£1.50), a bit of veg and some fruit to last (maybe a fiver). I have run out of tinned toms and althugh nothing in my meal plan needs them I still feel panicy not having any in!
I do have a bit extra if needed as have underspent in other areas, and have £12 in my second purse but would rather come in on budget if need be!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Hello all
Despite my best intentions, I've seriously overspent AGAIN - thanks in part to 3 takeaways in less than 2 weeks! Not like us at all - normally we have one every couple of months, so deeply embarrassed!
With only a week to go, I think it's still worth making the effort, and getting into better habits ready for April - new tax year and our income seriously drops (I think) so this week and next will be filled with meal plans, freezer/pantry tea, and those who want takeaways can whistle! :rotfl:
Haven't totted up properly yet, but out of an expected £400 for the month we are well over that already - by about £50 I think *hand over eyes smiley* - sorry to all of you with more gumption!
