Going to the Apple store to repair an iPhone. Questions...

On the back of the threads & responses from the consumer rights forum, my sister has decided to take her iphone to the Apple store to let these "geniuses" attempt a repair.
The phone didn't allow the person on the other end to hear you during calls, so this was returned to the seller for a repair.
The phone now has an abysmal reception - both o2 & WIFI.
So she wants to go to the store.
What is the procedure there to get this problem looked at?
Are they likely to keep the phone overnight (therefore requiring a second visit)? If so, would they post the phone on or do you have to go back to visit them?
What sort of charge can we be looking at here? Are we talking new iPhone territory?
The nearest store is about an hours drive away - Trafford Centre.

IIRC its about £150 for a swap out refurb phone
so from that down0 -
I've been keeping an eye on eBay & they're selling for about that much.
Anyway, thanks. I'll pass it on.
Out of interest, will they spit their dummy out if the phone is jailbroken? It currently is, but if it'll make things easier, my sister can un-jailbreak it if needs be.0 -
go to the shop were you got it and they have to repair it again for free or your money back ...anyway swap it for this

Jailbreaking your iPhone voids your warranty, and they may refuse to do anything, including a swap, with a jailbroken phone0

Can't go to the shop she bought it from - she bought it from a seller on Amazon. It's already been returned for repair once & has come back with a new issue. She doesn't want to be sending it backwards & forwards.
Can she just restore the iPhone (un-jailbreak) & then have it fixed?0
