Concert tickets sold out !!

Options
Hi,

I'm posting this for a friend of mine.

She purchased 4 tickets for a Keane Concert at Birmingham NEC on Friday in December last year. They were purchased on the internet through Tickettout.com and she received confirmation and a booking reference. The money was taken from her account more or less straight away.
Last week she telephoned the fore mentioned company to check that the tickets were on the way in the post and was told that they were.
She has received an e-mail from them saying that due to supplier issues they will be unable to supply her with the tickets she has bought but will issue a full refund in the next 14 days.
The company provided a contact number in case of any queries and we have both been trying this all day, but there is no answer.

As it is 4 days till the concert is there anything that she can do ? Any help / suggestions would be appreciated

    sorry to hear
dont think there is much they seem to me to be like one of those companys on watchdog who sell the tickets then have to source them from somewhere else to get them

personally id stick with buying from ticketmaster or the venue that way its more safer

Weren't Ticket tout the company mentioned on Watchdog a couple of weeks back? I seem to recall a company with a similar name having all sorts of problems and also delaying or even forgetting to refund when tickets weren't available.

    Soo

Edit; Yes that is the company Watchdog are warning about, see here:

I tried to book online at 9am for the £75.00 tickets and they were all sold out but had miraculously appeared on the Ticketmaster exchange starting at over £200!!

I don't believe for a second that in less than 60 seconds, a bunch of people can book ALL the prime tickets in A and B blocks and get them onto their exchange site. Ticketmaster are clearly keeping the best tickets to resell at a grossly inflated price.

I think Ticketmaster should be the next target of Martin's crusade.

Luckily, as an O2 phone customer, I had another route to getting tickets (which weren't as good but were still as expensive) with their Priority offer and had one by 9.20am but I'd have been stuck in the back if it hadn't been for that.

And that's not even mentioning the disgusting fees on top and the fact that the O2 forces us to deal with Ticketmaster on their own phone lines.

We got fobbed off by tickettout a few years ago (I'm sure it was them!), after purchasing tickets because they were on the 3rd row from the stage! (Ok, it was to see Westlife, but I only agreed to go as they were SO close to the front and thought it would be a laugh!). 4 months later they sent the tickets just days before the concert, apologising that our 3rd row tickets had been double booked, but they'd got us some cr*p seats at the back instead. Obviously we didn't want seats at the back as we were only going to be close up front, so sent them back for a refund. No refund ever happened... (Although annoying the girl who paid with her credit card was too lazy to chase it up...)

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Places like ticket tout sell tickets they don't actually have in the hope of getting them.

I think with Ticketmaster, staff can buy tickets before they go on general sale. Staff perks and all that

The tickets were very likely available to fan club and official site members up to 48 hours before general sale.

  • Yeah, if you sign up to the artist's newsletters, you generally get a presale link that goes live a day or two before the other tickets go on sale.
