Who has the best network coverage?

Hi,
I am at the end of my contract with vodafone and am looking to upgrade my old (but faithful) nokia.
I have found that with vodafone the network coverage is really bad at my place of work - can only get reception if you stand in a corner! My work also uses vodafone for the on call phones!?

Which ISP provider has the best cover and also can anyone recommend a newish phone for some-one who isn't that 'techie'??

I phone and text, use the camera sometimes but would maybe like an internet phone??
Many thanks. :o

No such a thing as best network coverage. Most networks have good and bad coverage area. Get a PAYG sim first from other networks and see which one give you the best coverage. With the phone it depend how much you want to spend.
You can pick up cheap android for around £100 to iphone 4s for £500.

    Thankyou thegoodman.

I was going to maybe go contract again, there seems to be some good deals at the mo. Was looking to go through one of the cashback sites but want to keep my number I already have. (don't know how ths would work though).
  • It varies in every area but Everything Everywhere (Orange and T-Mobile) is probably the best for coverage now and 3 is the worst for indoor coverage (It only has 3G at the 2100mhz which is very bad at getting through buildings. All the other networks have 2G at 1800mhz or 900mhz, which is better).

You started off so well, the OP could also pick up a cheap iphone and expensive android, could they not?

    Try this
You can upgrade from mobiles.co.uk , e2save etc and use quidco for extra cash back. Even the cash back offers are fine as long as you send the bill within 60 days
If you are changing the network than try the link below

  • it doesnt really work like that like other said try a free sim (most nwtwork will send you one out) try them all see which works best in your area

    I wish I was more techie. :(

Need a new phone. Haven't really got the funds to buy upfront so looking at contract. Looking at getting one of the smart phones but not to difficult to work and not a load to pay each month.

Would also like to keep my number but can I do this if I go through a cashback site? :o

    Try the link below
    http://www.moneysupermarket.com/mobile-phones/
And see which phone is best for you
Also do the search on the web to make sure the phone is right for you before buying. You need to look for a device which is easy to use and update. If you are looking to do one thing with the phone say watching tv programs, make sure it can do that.

To initially try (without long term commitment) you should try each network with a free or cheap PAYG SIM in your existing unlocked phone. This way there will be no major upfront cost or commitment.

You can also work out which networks coverage suits your needs without getting stuck with a long term contract that may not suit you.

Once your happy with a particular network, opt for the contract that suits you, with the handset of your choice.

You can move your existing number to any network as often as you like.

So in essence try before you buy.

Need and want are very different, although you say you cannot get the funds to buy upfront, really do try as the 24 month contracts are often just ridiculous, once you have taken the hit of the outlay for a handset then the low monthly nd generous airtime of the sim only pays dividends.
All the popular handsets are not difficult to use
