orange rubbish - free headphones broken and won't do anything
I bought the Orange RIO £35 phone as xmas present for my son. Partly because it was a blackberry a like and partly because of the gift pack including headphones.
The nice looking Angle & Curve headphones lasted precisely one month, although he only used them at home connected to the lounge computer.
Orange store refused to replace them saying they had no obligation as they were a gift. Are they right, it feels so wrong.
Needless to say I won't be renewing any other phones currently on orange unless I get a replacement
Thanks for any tips on how to resolve

Spend a tenner on some headphones from Argos, perhaps they should replace them if faulty, however it sounds as there maybe other factors which should be considered before wasting time fighting them. After all there was a lot of hot air regarding the price increase, and all the keyboard warriors have been quiet since0

From Martin's page about consumer rights:DON'T: Think you've no rights with freebies
If a freebie comes as part of a purchase, for example a bike with a gym membership contract, you've exactly the same Sad Fart rights regarding the freebie as if you'd bought it.
