Yes there would be some extra pipe work from existing boiler on one side of single garage to other.Existing boiler is Vailant Combi around 14 yrs old but keeps failing to refire up once thermostat temp reached.
Hi:a few questions for you... what model Vaillant? Why is the new boiler not going in the same place as current one? Have you been told that your current boiler is beyond economical repair?

Just seems to be suggesting a new boiler has tried to fix it also water flow is very slow and not that hot for a bath.
Existing boiler is a Vailant vuw282e & was fitted in April 1998.
Property is quite large with 16 radiators.0 -

pmsl ok I am a doctor on the side by the wayI still think that quote is expensive, I had a boiler fitted for £500 2 years ago, and that was a Worcester that I supplied, in total paid about £2k , BGS quoted almost £6k, and I used to work for them lol
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
There may be bits missing that cause doubt on whether this quote is expensive or not but if spending upwards of 2K it seems worth a second quote anyway.0

No help but my father in law's boiler packed up and obviously had to get another one. He got someone from Yellow pages and someone called. He foolishly said to the man I have £2000 to spend on a new boiler and guest what the bill came to a few pounds short of this figure. Classic mistake!
Unfortunately he will never listen and will not be told.0 -
OMG when will people learn?
Dont automatically think that just becasue the guy has quoted his price he's going home rubbing his hands with £741 profit for gods sake!
CH has pointed out that the boiler is being moved from an internal wall to an outside wall and there is no mention of distance from original position to new.
Powerflushes can be priced at extortionate rates by people like BG (I've heard of £1200 before now) they can range from £200 upto £1200, just depends who does it! A powerflush is NOT all profit by the way. If he paid out for his machine then he layed out upwards of £700 to increase his profits, he took a gamble to get extra work, stop with the profit busting! He's in business to make money, not make you smile! This is a free country, get at least three other quotes and then decide if he's over priced, if he is then he wont get the work, simple! How can anyone judge a high or low price from one quote?
P.S. I didnt see a flue cost in your Google search Taffy, they range depending on type but at least £75 for Vaillant, more if its vertical! Have you factored in his copper fittings?0 -
£2295 doesn't sound all that bad to me, if it includes everything including a thousand pound boiler. You are having the boiler moved which bumps up both the parts and labour considerably. I bet you could get it done for less if you really looked hard, but I think you'd struggle to get it under two grand. One thing you don't mention is your location. In London that's a real bargain. In Northumberland maybe it is too expensive.0
