Options
I have been quoted £2295 for following:
- Fit New Vailant Ecotech Plus 837 combi boiler
- Honeywell Programmer Thermostat CM927
- Adey Magna Clean professional
-Power Flush
- Reposition boiler to external garage wall from internal wall
Does this sound competitive or do I need to obtain more quotes?
thanks.

Sounds very expensive to me. Most definitely get several more quotes.0

About £800 for fitting then after looking at costs on google, I would say that's quite expensive, 1-2 days work maximum . Think labour should by circa £400-£500 depending on area.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

Yes but you should have moe than one quote and compare each spec like for like....the 837 is not a cheap boiler.

After a quick google search
Vaillant Ecotec Plus 837 - £1096.88
Thermostat CM927 - £106.49
Adey Magna Clean professional - £99.99
Power flush - £250
Total - £1553.36
Still £741 for fitting and moving a boiler is expensive, if you add in the powerflush element its almost £1k , think the OP should look aroundExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?

Several glaring omissions in your materials list...take a closer look at the job (well, as close as one can from behind a keyboard)

Yes there are items missing such as a flue and piping etc, I am no gas engineer but I can do maths, the simple fact is for what the OP is getting the fitting side of the job is quite expensive, nowhere near BG expensive but still is, for example a power flush is almost all profit, and that is from a mate who does that. As been mentioned already by to the OP they should look around.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. I dont think its particularly expensive.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

The OP's quote includes in the spec. ' Reposition boiler to external garage wall from internal wall'....this suggests a change in the CH pipework. We have no idea what boiler the OP currently has or whether the gas supply needs to be upsized i.e. the 837 will require 4.0 m3/hr , what other gas appliances the OP has. No idea how the condensate waste be dealt with...soakaway, condensate pump, internally? No idea how much pipe lagging will be required as boiler will be installed in an unheated space (frost protection for rest of CH system). No idea what the flueing requirements are....vertical flue? telescopic? pluming kit? In other words not a simple combi swap.
We have no idea how many rads are on the system..this will impact on the time a powerflush will take ...larger system/filthier system = more time.
If only quotations were as simple as googling an incomplete parts and labour spec....a RGI wouldn't have to leave the house to quote.
As you say you're not a 'gas engineer' but your mate is. My mate is a doctor but I could diagnosis any medical conditions you might have... but on second thought........:eek:Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)0 -
Yes there would be some extra pipe work from existing boiler on one side of single garage to other.Existing boiler is Vailant Combi around 14 yrs old but keeps failing to refire up once thermostat temp reached.0
