Cheapest place for raspberry canes?

Anyone have a recommendation for somewhere cheap to buy raspberry canes? We've just seen them at the local nursery 3 for £7 in a pot - seemed expensive to me, going on past years when I've bought them.

Lidl sounds a brilliant price, failing that Wilkinsons sell them too.

We got a raspberry and a blueberry bush from one of the 99p/£1 stores. The blueberry one did terribly but the raspberry one gave us lots of fruit and i plan on getting a couple more this year :-)
  • This time of year your local allotmenteers will be digging them out and composting them - they spring up everywhere. We dug out 15 last weekend. So if you are really moneysaving, ask on freecycle if any allotmenteers have any that need digging out, then take a space and go get them!
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
  • Poundland have them, i got 2 last year and forgot to plant them, trying again this year - planted today.

My raspberries are all from the pound shop or poundland and they grow fantastically well and have always given us a great yield!
Taking responsibility one penny at a time!
  • Just a word of warning. My mum bought aldi raspberries and they came up year in year out and never once produced a raspberry worth the name. Lots of odd single blobs but not a berry in sight. I'll be going to get a blueberry bush at Lidl on Thursday though!

I bought 2 pots of rasberries from Homebase today, £4.98 each or 3 for £12, turned out there are 3 in each pot so I now have 6 plants!!! (along with a thornless blackberry bush :-) )

(they were selling the same rasberries inside, in cardboard tubes ... but these were ones that were in pots outside)

My poundshop raspberries have done well for the last couple of years. They are so sweet and delicious. They make excellent jam.
