Present ideas for a 4 yr old boy needed please

Any ideas for a present for a four year old boy? He lives in Australia so for postage reasons the pressie needs to be light-ish and not too bulky. Budget up to about £20ish but doesn't matter if it's something cheaper as long as it's something a four year old would like!

Duplo or Lego depending on his maturity, action figures, dinosaurs, knex, fancy dress costume - spiderman is usually popular at that age.
  • Most little boys I know are obsessed with those little toy cars, trucks etc!! Think it's 'hot wheels', or maybe something a little more educational like a fun game he can play with siblings/parents.

    I've been Money Tipped!
At that age my lad would have loved a jigsaw or 2 arriving in the post or a board game to play.

    Packs of snap/happy families cards.

Remember that it is weight that RM will check, not dimensions, so a big box weighing 500g will cost the same as a small box weighing 500g, and get there in the same time too.
Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
  • Orchard Toys have some lovely jigsaws and board games - they are decent quality and a bit different than the usual stuff that you can buy from the High Street (although they are stocked in a few shops).

Do Amazon have an Australian branch? Could you order something from them and arrange for it to be delivered to his address? That way, you won't need to worry about weight or postage.

Thanks, I may need to send the stuff by courier as there will be other things I'm sending and RM only go up to 2kg weight so need to watch the size of things as well as the weight - the couriers go by weight combined with dimensions.

Unfortunately Amazon doesn't exist in Oz. You can order stuff from the UK site to get sent to Oz but it's very expensive. I have ordered from an Australian website before that took paypal (otherwise there are problems completing checkout as you need an Oz card billing addresss) but I need to send other things this time round.

If its not too heavy, how about something like a London bus/taxi, plus some pencils. I also saw a load of London 2012 stuff the other day, but he may be too young to appreciate that.

My nephew is 3 1/2 and lives in Sydney and is obsessed with bugs and creepy crawlies, all of which are in abundance over there, so I sent him a national geographic bug viewer/ catcher. I sent one to my niece in NZ too and they were big hits.

I always get children's friends clothes, but with popular characters on the,. So star wars lego characters, sonic, mario bros hello kitty, Angry Birds, dinosaurs. Children like them because they have the characters on them. Adults like them, because it's clothes. I usually get t shirts, but somtimes it's pj's. I er on the larger size usually. You can get some nice hoodies.
they're lightweight for posting and you can wrap them up small.

  • Transformers or little characters from his favourite program? Quite little gifts to post over there.
  • I must be one of the few mums who doesn't really like her children receiving clothes as gifts. i do appreciate clothing, but have very oddly sized kids :D

My daughter is now an adult, but was always quite tall for her age, so many things were too short, even if they were the next size up.

My eldest son has Down's syndrome and is quite short for his age. Clothes tend to be too long in the leg for him, and as for the elngth of the arms......:rotfl:

My younger son is very tall and quite stocky for his age. He has been in men's clothes for ages, as children's tend to be too short and narrow. He is eight inches taller than his older brother :D adn the paediatrician has predicted a height of at least 6'4" without a growth spurt at puberty, and upto 6'8" or more with the growth spurt . He was checked because of his speedy growth.
