I love the idea of a man having an 'engagement' ring. Maybe something like a signet ring with a small diamond in?

Thanks. I like this sort of thing, it's quite a 'thin' ring, only 3mm and has a stone, although not a diamond as I don;t have a lot of money at all. http://www.suaydesign.com/jewellery-...91.cfm?iCat=58

If you know which of your rings fits his finger - then ask a jeweller to 'size' it for you. armed with this knowledge you should be able to find a suitable ring! unlike shoes etc - ring sizes are very accurate and even if it does not fit exactly a small adjustment wouldnt be a problem.
try ebay hun - loads of jewellery on there! and they usually give the size.

Thanks. The ring I wear on the ring finger of my right hand fits about half way down his little finger, so I don;t know how help that would be.
I;d thought of eBay but not sure about ring size still and could they get it to me by the 29th?

  • I think you will really need his ring size, sorry. Especially being on such a tight budget. If you take it away from the jeweller I'm pretty sure they will charge for resizing (not if they send it away there and then). I'm not even sure you'd be able to resize stainless steel.

I'm sure if you had a good estimation of his ring size it could be altered to fit quite easily.

I love the idea of asking your man to marry you on the 29th but i'd be too scared he'd say no.

I dont think i'd buy anything as special as a ring off Ebay. Something as special as this you would really need to see (and you wouldnt have the time to send it back).

  • What a lovely idea, a man's engagement ring. :T

OH is hoping I ask him this year (we've been together 5 years) - I take the view if he wants to marry me he will ask me (I have some very old-fashioned ideas LOL)
plus he's a lazy so and so and I think this is one thing that the man should do! :D:p

...and I'm hoping for the full champagne, down on one knee and a mahoosive solitaire ring experience despite it being second time around for us both! ;)
    :hello:

Engaged to the best man in the world :smileyhea

Well that's what I got last year, a meal out for an occasion that was already happening, then down on one knee and a diamond solitaire (although not massive, but very tasteful).
So we're already engaged, so I know he'll say yes! lol

As for getting it resized, the website says they will exchange it if it's the wrong size, but I might ring them tomorrow and explain, see if they can help. Likewise, I'll be in town so I can ask about sizes/exchanging etc

I'm hoping the shop (if I can find one on the high street that does anything like the website but it's not looking good) might exchange, rather than resize if it's wrong.

As for him saying no, he asked me last year and we're already engaged so I know I'm safe lol

  • My suggestion is that you can go to a real store to choose one instead of searching it online. I have the experience that ring's pictures online are not very true plus the size.
