Where to buy a nice but inexpensive men's engagement ring for the 29th Feb?

Hiya,
I usually live on the DFW boards, but got into a discussion with my (already) fiance about Leap Year. Anyway, long story short, I'd like to see if I can get him a ring.
I've looked at Argos, but don;t really like them and anyway they're all a bit wide. I'd be looking for something round the 3mm-4mm width. I'm also looking for something round the £40 mark, so nothing exciting really, although a stone of some sort would be nice.
Also, I have no idea of his ring size and as he doesn't usually wear a ring, i have nothing to borrow to find out.
please help, the 29th is on Wednesday (I think?) and I'm not even sure if this is a possibility?

Thats a lovely idea, my fiance could never understand why I got a ring and he didn't when we got engaged!
I'd love to do something like that also but I don't have the funds unfortunately.
I don't know your fiance's style obviously but what about something like this? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2408765/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CJewellery+and+watches%7C14416987/c_2/2%7C14416987%7CMen%27s+jewellery%7C14417140/c_3/3%7Ccat_14417140%7CMen%27s+rings%7C14417151.htm
Its simple and could probably be resized easily if needed?

Thanks for your reply x
No, I've looked at Argos and all their rings are too wide, the band I mean, too, well wide lol
Also, and i should have mentioned, I'm looking for a silver colour.
I've seen this, and quite like it, but it's mail order... http://www.suaydesign.com/jewellery-shop/Elation-Steel-Ring-591.cfm?iCat=58 and also, I don;t know his ring size...Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

you might struggle to find something as men don't usually have engagement rings and if you don't know his size too that could present a problem. sounds like you've discussed the fact that you plan to propose to him so could you both go round the shops together until you find one suitable?0

That's really nice.
Could you speak to a family member of his and see if they know what size he would wear?
Sorry everything else I have found is over £700 -

Well only sort of really.
As I mentioned my first post, we are already engaged as he asked me last year, but we were chatting about leap year yesterday and he asked and said that he'd not asked me, would I have asked him this year. I'd replied with 'well you wouldn't want to wear a ring, would you?' as when we'd got engaged I'd asked if he wanted a ring and he'd said no. However, he replied with the fact that he'd wear it cos it was an engagement ring from me.
I;d prefer it to be a surprise though. I know where my rings sit on his finger though, so at least for a high street retailer that might help, but not as a mail order one.Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

If you know which of your rings fits his finger - then ask a jeweller to 'size' it for you. armed with this knowledge you should be able to find a suitable ring! unlike shoes etc - ring sizes are very accurate and even if it does not fit exactly a small adjustment wouldnt be a problem.
try ebay hun - loads of jewellery on there! and they usually give the size.0 -
I love the idea of a man having an 'engagement' ring. Maybe something like a signet ring with a small diamond in?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
