Negative Feedback for NO reason

:mad::mad::mad:

I sold a pair of tickets on Ebay in an auction with face value of them listed. I then sent the tickets the same day, special delivery (free) at a cost of nearly £6 to me.

I have and have had a 100% for ages. To my surprise, I awake to a negative feedback comment stating I sold tickets for double face value and they don't want to comment as they would get banned !!!

I did not decide how much they would go for, I also did not make the person bid on them. MY listing clearly stated the face value of the tickets.

I am so angry, and Ebay will do nothing about it. Said the usual, we are sorry but they haven't broken any rules.

All I have been able to do, is respond to the feedback. Sadly I had already left the customer good feedback.

Funnily, if the customer had contacted me like a normal person, I would have quite easily refunded him 100% of the money upon rtn of the tickets as I'd get them sold no problem.

What a joke !!! Between the customer and Ebay...I don't know who is worse !!!

Probably the Ebayer, Just the type of person you dont want to meet on ebay really.

Typical iv ran into something like this before.

Probably from now on leave feedback when they left you feedback? Thats all i do now. I know its all done and happened now but i suppose this is the only way.

I won't leave feedback again until the buyer does. I'd see the point if I mis sold something or didn't tell the truth, but I did.

Its like someone buying an item from a shop, the going back and saying it was ridiculous the price the paid for it !

As for Ebay...about as much use as a chocolate fireguard !!!
  • Excellent, keep these threads coming so it reminds me why I sacked ebay...if I ever start selling on ebay again someone please shoot me

I know how annoyed you are. We recently had our 100% feedback ruined by a silly buyer who rather than contact us decided to give us (unfair) negative feedback, and don't even get me going on the 'computer says no' customer service we received

The problem with that is a lot of buyers don't leave feedback until the seller does. It should be as soon as payment is received you leave FB for the buyer and they leave it for you when the item arrives.

The amount of things I've bought and less than half of the sellers have left me any feedback, I used to still leave them FB but after a few years it gets frustrating so now I only leave feedback if they do, unless I need to leave a neg/ neutral.

Agreed, My only exception to this is if i have to open a NPB and they then pay, I'd rather wait and see if/what feedback they leave before i give them a positive(all you can give as a seller)

Most buyers will check your neg FB, if they're interested & as long as the follow up isn't a rant then they'll no doubt realise that you sold to a prat.
As a buyer I don't leave FB for a seller until they do, as a seller you can only leave pos or nothing.
  • I share your pain OP, it's so unfair when idiots like this can leave feedback and you can't do anything about it. Years ago, back in the day when Paypal was new, and waaay before everyone was made to accept it on every auction, I sold three items to one buyer. They were perfectly polite through the whole payment process, sent me a cheque as payment with a polite note (and as the items were relatively low value I decided to be nice and post them off before I'd even banked the cheque, never mind waiting for it to clear, which it did, don't worry!), they sent me a nice polite email saying the items had arrived thanks very much... and then did a complete U turn and left me three big fat negs just saying "didn't accept Paypal". !!!!!!?! Of course eBay wouldn't do anything about it. They were my first ever negs, I was upset for ages and didn't want to sell anything after that! The only thing that made me feel a tad better was that this was also back in the days of being able to leave truthful feedback for buyers...

Leave a response that says 'Face value was CLEARLY stated on listing, you chose to bid the amount you did' And leave it there. There is always one, I had someone leave me a neg for 'washing stain on clothing'. !!!!!! a washing stain is I have absolutely no idea but she refused to send it back to me for a full refund (inc postage) as she was 'too busy'. She was a seller so I guess she did use the post.

There is no helping some people.
