OK We eventually bought a Hotpoint FFA52P at £329 from Comet
Delivery expected in 8 days (our choice)

Next Question - when they come to "swap" units - how long will the new one take to freeze the old freezer contents ?

ie) Should we empty the old freezer first ?

Last time I got a freezer, they said not to use it for several hours after delivery.

I would put the contents into cool bags / boxes so that they are protected while you defrost the old machine and wait for the new one to be ready. Mine, too, had to stand for a certain number of hours before being recommended ready for use.
