To the original poster I would say carry on with the complaint and if you get negative feedback, don't forget you can reply to this feedback directly and put across your side. Also if that happens it would be worth emailing Ebay to see if they can remove the bad feedback which they may do if his account gets suspended.0

On the subject of responding to negative feedback ..........

I find that the best approach is to construct a comment along the following lines.... If nothing else, it gets a rise out of the person who left it.
"Your Emailed apology is accepted, we all have our down days"
"I accept your emailed apology, sorry to hear your wife left you, take care"
"Emailed apology received and accepted, good luck with the new medication"The MSE Dictionary

I left one once sying " item genuine buyer not " in response to their neg " appeared to be half full" when it was brand spanking new. Buyer said it was full of air - she was not the cream !0
