Here I am again with another 'buyer' problem and I'm beginning to think I'm either unlucky or paranoid!!!
This guy, with an excellent feedback, bought an item from me about 4 weeks ago ( 'Payment within 7 days' I stipulate) and still hasn't paid. I sent a friendly reminder ( and it was friendly) after 7 days and he replied his computer had been playing up and he would send payment 'asap'. He didn't. After another 7 days I sent another friendly reminder saying that I would appreciate it if he would now complete the transaction. He didn't. So, I started the NPB dispute through E-bay. After a couple of days he sent a rather sarky reply saying he would pay 'asap' and signing himself as NO1S**THEAD. I'm not a prude - indeed when the mood takes me my language can be 'colourful' to say the least but there was something about his response that made me feel he was really ticked off with me.
He has an excellent feedback, collects anything and everything similar to my item and yet has not paid 1 month later.
Should I contact him again (friendly!) or just pursue the NPB route?

Persue the NPB. A month is ridiculous.0

Go for the NPB otherwise you will run out of time. It's not your fault he can't complete and if he is making you uneasy then it is probably best anyway.

I would simply pursue the NPB process, and relist in 7 days.

Many thanks for your replies - I think I knew the thing to do would be to pursue the NPB route but it's reassuring to hear it from some else as well!!
What I don't understand is why someone with a 100% positive feedback score of 158 would want to spoil it by being bloody-minded about not paying for my item when I've bent over backwards to be friendly and non-confrontational!!??
I suppose I'm also concerned that he will retaliate by giving me -tive feedback when I've worked so hard for my 53 positive!!

It's interesting to note that your last comment, answers your first question.
On the issue of retaliatory negs, they are pretty much the norm, thus sellers with something to lose, shy away from negging buyers who have nothing to lose.
Of course, should you choose NOT to neg, the next seller the buyer screws around will be asking the same questions as you.

Pity ebay cant change the rules, anyone who bids and doesnt pay should have there ability to rate taken away from them for that auction and then the seller can leave the negative without getting neged themselves, thus allowing anyone else to know what the buyer has back off before. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

Good idea gk172 but then again why would ebay bother - they still get our money. But it would save so much hassle for sellers.
Original OP sorry about the hassle you have had. I reckon myself that this guy has probably done this before but no one has dared leave a neg. Once I negged someone who was awful to me and I recieved an email from a girl saying thanks as she had been too scared to neg them ! Unfortunately I just recieved my first neg after 350 + postive fback. It hurt but I will get over it. I have a non payer who has not paid for 14 days at moment, despite stating as you do that item has to be paid in 7 days.I am just about to start the non payer process as it is ridiculous - people should pay when they " purchase" the goods . Thats what happens in shops.
You might want to consider emailing Ebay with a copy of the email he sent you too. But definately process the non payer - you never know he might already have some non paying alerts already- then he might get suspended ! That would be fun. :beer:0 -
I think a better system for feedback would be for example to shorten the limit to say 30 days in which to leave feedback instead of 90. But the feedback doesn't show on the other person's profile until either.... both parties have left feedback or the 30 days is up. If this was the case then people wouldn't know what feedback they had recieved and as a result could leave retallitory feedbackTitch

what a plonker! he is obviously not bothered about his feedback and it could be just one of many of his accounts! I would write him off and start the npb
Hope it goes ok!

I have the exact opposite problem. My money was taken from my account two weeks ago yet I haven't received my goods. I have emailed them and they are a large firm. They have a get-out clause. They say that purchases will be sent the following business day BUT please allow longer as occasionally we might be busy!
I got an email yesterday saying that it had been sent out. However, I've bought an alternative [phone] as I couldn't wait indefinitely. I am going to refuse the parcel when it comes. I have told the firm this! Well, not quite!!!!!! I've told them that there will be no-one here for the forseeable future so will they please re-imburse me.
I hope they do!0
