sorry if this is wrong - but it isn't your money? its theirs?
i think pay day loans are ok for "short term emergency" use - but fail to see why anyone would apply for such a loan knowing they couldnt afford to pay it back in full on pay day.
the actual title of the finance offered is "pay day loan". hardly rocket science.
before i get bashed - i totally understand that something can crop up prior to pay day
this is however, extremely rare!!!
if not - a pay day loan isnt really suitable.0 -
Hmmmm... not bashing but that is a very black and White view.
when I applied for the loan I was in a position where I had no other option - well done you for things cropping up rarely before payday but things aren't that easy for everyone. when you are a working single parent you do what you have to do to make ends meet.
You could apply your statement of it not being my money to many things, loans, overdrafts, credit cards but that's the world we live in.sorry if this is wrong - but it isn't your money? its theirs?

The point is though, many people who use loans, CC's and o/d's pay them back and don't encounter these problems.
I had my entire salary taken from my account once, left me with minus money until the bank and Police dealt with the situation. It happened on the 4th of the month and I got paid on the 29th. I sold my belongings in order to buy food. I too was lucky on the date it happened as all of my household bills were covered from another account.
There are other options than PDL's.

I have been paying them back.
I came on here for a bit of a support not for people to pounce on me effectively telling me I'm stupid for taking it out in the first place, I know that already! yes, payday loans are a bad idea. lesson learned, we all do things we shouldn't.The point is though, many people who use loans, CC's and o/d's pay them back and don't encounter these problems.

No, it didn't get lost come to think of it. it was swallowed by a cash machine in a petrol station and I had just filled up the car. Cor, some of you people on here are so quick to judge aren't you? It's not helpful.0

I had a payday loan from Payday Express about a year ago - I think it was for about £500......After 2-3 months.....arranged a payment plan of £50 per month until the debt was repaid.
They have been taking the repayment of £50 per month as agreed for the past 5months.
So, in twelve months' time you've made five payments, having employed every delaying tactic in the book. With all that interest due, how much do you owe now?
Like quite a few previous posters here, you had presumed you could manage to s***w the Payday Loan Company.......
Nobody has managed that yet, neither will you. These companies are ruthless, they have to be!0 -
Sorry OP but a pay day loan is meant to be short term - you have been paying it back for a minimum of 5 months and still you haven't paid it off.
IMO you don't have a leg to stand on - and if you read the terms and conditions of your loan you have given them authority to debit your account by any means if you haven't paid back in time EVEN with a payment agreement.0 -
Hi,
I've never posted before but I am SOOOO angry I have to ask for any advice or suggestions that anyone has on this one!
I had a payday loan from Payday Express about a year ago - I think it was for about £500. I lost my debit card before the payment was due to come out of my account so the card was cancelled and they couldn't debit the payment. I called them to inform them that this was the case but said that I couldn't afford to pay the whole amount back so they agreed to take the payment in installments. On the date that they were due to take out the first payment they took the whole amount leaving me with literally nothing. I complained about this and they agreed to refund difference of the installment that I had arranged.
As soon as I received the refund in my account I cancelled my card again as I completely didn't trust that they would not do this again. I was so angry with them that I didn't answer their calls and letters after they were unable to debit the next installment. After 2-3 months I finally answered their call and arranged a payment plan of £50 per month until the debt was repaid.
They have been taking the repayment of £50 per month as agreed for the past 5months.
I went to withdraw some cash today after being paid yesterday and the machine said I had insufficient funds. My balance was 76p! I called the bank and they found out from the fraud department that there were 7 seperate transactions relating to Payday Express for the amounts of: £25, £12.50, £12.50, £162.50, £25.00, £25.00 & £50 - so that's £312.50 in total and I now have 76p to feed my daughter and I for the next month. Luckily all my bills went out of my account yesterday so at least their covered.
I called Payday Express at 12.59pm today and lo and behold they closed at 1pm. So i'm stuck and cannot do a thing until Monday. The thing is, how do I know that they are going to give me my money back?? Are they even obliged to? How can they justify taking 262.50 more then they should of? More to the point, how the hell am I going to last the month on 76p?????????
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks for reading my rant,
Jo
I actually have no sympathy and im sorry if you feel this is harsh.
As they raided you before, why did you give them new debit card?
If you get a refund, then demand their sort code/account number so you can transfer the money to them, and then they wont be able to raid your account.
I have been in your position before, but i learnt straight away.
If you ever get into a position of a repayment plan, keep in control only pay through a bank transfer not though debit card, as many will empty you out, and the bank will never get involved.
I am not one for pouncing on people for using payday loans as i have in the past, they serve a purpose.
Some of the people on here see themselves as better than people that use PDL's
but these same people will have defaulted on loans, missed mortgage payments etc so in reality are no better.
Good Luck OP.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0
