t-mobile changes my contract length from 18 to 24 months

hello folks

when i checked the account online for the upgrade date, it shows that my contract is in 24 months, but from the web order from t-mobile, it clearly says it's a 18months contract. and i find out the difference between 18 and 24, i'm getting 300 more minutes on the 24 months tariff, from 600 to 900. but the maximum call out time for me is just over 100 mins, sometimes its over 200mins, and i do want to upgrade to another phone in the march or april.

is this common with t-mobile after oct 2010? since i've been with them for 5years, never had such a problem.

can i still get the original contract length(18 months) without paying extra? if so, whats the best way to do, go to local store or write to them?

:mad::mad:

    why dont you just contact them?
  • thank you for the replies.
    the original i purchased from t web store is 18months, now, from online or tmobile's system, it says 24month, though the monthly payment is the same.

    i 've phoned the cs, they just tell me the blahblah, the system shows you are in 24 month, we don't do 35ppm on 900mins on a 18month contract, your upgrade date is oct 2012, etc.

    If you are still on the original 18 month order and haven't upgraded, and you have written proof, then you should show that in a T-Mobile shop and see if they can clear it up.

    Failking that, you should contact them again and offer to Fax the written confirmation of 18 months to them, or, at the death, write to Head Office enclosing a copy of the written 18 month confirmation.

    If, however, you have upgraded and the original term was 18 months, then they could have put you on a 24 month deal.

    prior to upgrade how many months were remaining?
    Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
