Not bitter, correct, going by your comments he was perfectly correct.
You put the wrong cable in to save a few pounds, you asked about it and didn't get the answer you liked.0 -
I can see you are going to get on very well on here :rotfl:0

I think all that charlie and weed has seriously rotted his brain.0

If the cable is only 9m in length why not do it again?0

This is a good read on the subject of cable selection. Section 3 is the part of interest, and Section 3.3 (a worked example) clarifies things nicely.

Unfortunately it only comes in a 9.5kw version. I have a 6mm cable which supposedly is only good for an 8.5kw at maximum (as long as its below 18 meters in length).
My cable is only 9 meters in length. Also the shower has a power selector.
I was wondering if it is ok to fit this shower and generally use the medium power selection and only occasionally use the high option in the depths of the winter?
Me and my electrician friend have fitted the cable ourselves and it does not run through anything that could cause a problem should the cable become hot (in worst case scenario).
Please help!
You did say you had fitted the cable Kilocharlie.
I think you have taken some of the comments the wrong way as most guys on this forum just want to help.0 -

"Are you his homo lover ?"
"Seriously mate, being an a s s hole on the internet is not cool."
"Neither him or you would speak to people like that in real life"
"and keep your mouth shut."
And that was just one post!
We do seem to be getting more than our fair share of people who rapidly sink to insults and abuse when they don't hear what they want to hear.
The bottom line is, that the original proposal was not safe, if KC can't accept advice politely pointing that out, perhaps he would like to go another site and insult their members instead.0 -

I agree that it may look like that but I was not mad at all at the people who made constrcutive comments despite not saying what I wanted to hear. I have thanked them all and are grateful for their comments. The whole reason I made this thread was to discuss my options, none of which would make me angry - why would they?
What I do have a problem with though is when people post unconstructive comments such as .....Avoriaz wrote:When your house burns down because of all the dodgy under rated wiring, I hope you and your pot head spark can have a good laugh about it.
Then you get other people, once again, making unconstuctive comments and agreeing with them. I post on alot of forums and never have idiots like this come and try and offend you like this. Its not my problem its their's. If thats "politely pointing" things out then some people need a reality check.0 -
You seem to be coming across as a "perfectly balanced person" - a chip on each shoulder !
Avoriaz's comment was most obviously meant as a joke - hence the 'big grin'.
You raised the fact that your electrician friend smokes something a little stronger than Silk Cut, what do you expect?
You go on, by refering to "idiots" on this web site; I might venture to add that someone else might need a "reality check". Pots and kettles spring to mind.0 -
The reality check is that saying I can have a laugh after looking at my "crap shower" and my "house burning down" just isn't funny.
for then someone else to say "he correct, perfectly correct" just adds to my point.
for me to call them idiots is by far an expectable reply, but thanks for your opinions anyway.0
