As I said, and you have reinforced, you have no knowledge of the HB system, the rules or regulations.
You just posted to make yourself feel good about smacking someone down. You need to grow up.
How would you feel if someone had told you that YOUR problems could have been solved if YOU had made different decisions, rather than helping you get through them?
I could suggest that "My knowledge of taxpayers payments is to help those who need it, not to give out £2k in compo" or that "those who choose to have kids with others should not expect the state to sort out their problems when things go wrong" ; but those sort of views would be rather crass and insensitive, although they would at least be based on my knowledge of how the relevant systems operate, their rules, failings and the inherent problems of state interference in lives. :cool:0 -
Awkward and cramped as it is to have three children in a two bedroomed house, might it not be better to put up with it until you are in a better financial position?
At least you would be looking after it and keeping it in a saleable condition?0 -

Not that my signature has any relation to the thread....
In a nut shell if you were forced against your will to use the CSA despite being quite happy with your own arrangement and the CSA took money off your ex for your child but then gave that money to somebody else for 2 years woildnt you feel entitled to some compensation? If you want further explanation of my private life then PM me! Rather than keep being a keyboard warrior.0 -

Sounds to me like you have no understanding of even the most basic facts about our socialist financial system. It's not me who is the greedy one, all I want is what I am owed. If it turns out that I'm not due anything then I'll make do.
When I see people like my sister who is unemployed and who lives with her unemployed husband, and I see that they're doing remarkably well off the welfare system it makes me wonder. She had a nice 70's build three bed semi in Southport with a drive way, gardens and a garage, a huge caravan and a 4x4 to drop her two kids off at school in. Why am I suffering so much in my two bed flea pit as a working, investing tax paying civilian? Surely I deserve some money back from the taxes I've paid when I fall on hard times?
It looks like you're even struggling to read - did you go to school at all? Did you see the details of my situation?0 -

That's not how it is. Sounds like you're living in a dream world. I can think of lots of examples of where housing benefit only goes to fund drug dealers who live very comfortably already.0 -

The thing is, this is not your average two bed house. It's a two up two down. Two small bedrooms upstairs and one slightly bigger living room/dining room downstairs. The kitchen and bathroom I built onto the back of the house and both of them together are smaller than the small bedroom. I've considered trying to make do, and I've even tried it for the last few months - but I swear, my wife will leave me if I continue like this.
The tention and misery of living here is just too much to cope with. I'd be better off having the house repossessed than lose my wife.0 -

If not, I imagine you don't even pay tax on your earnings and yet you feel 'entitled' to take advantage of tax paid government run council assistance. Do you receive tax credits or any other benefits?
If not, does that mean that you believe the ones less fortunate who find themselves in difficult circumstances and do not pay as much tax deserve to live in poverty?
This is a more or less socialist government and it is so for good reason. The comment you have just agreed with is plagued with ignorance and stupidity.
Given that I'm fully employed, I do pay tax & NI via PAYE, so you can stop worrying about that.
What Council assistance do I take advantage of, exactly?
Of course I don't believe that people less fortunate should be living in poverty, having only returned to the workforce again last year, after a prolonged period of illness. However, I don't class the houseowner, of a 2 bed house, wanting a bigger property, being as living in poverty.
Maybe it's just me?0 -

Yeah, it's just you. I wouldn't wish living like this on anyone. There is so much pressure to move. I dare say it's impossible to be content and 'manage' like this. If there is anyone else in the country making do with five people in a house the size of a caravan then I can guarantee that they're having a very hard time and I hope for their sakes they're looking to move somewhere suitable.
Maybe I read your post wrong - you were looking at a council flat or something. Even if you're like me and being a honest hard working pillar of society, there needs to be some compassion for those worse off. If you could experience what it's like for my family - I promise you'd feel sorry for us.0 -

I can read very well thank you! In fact I was lucky enough to attend one of the top 10 Schools in Nottingham.
It's a shame you didn't pay any attention to the advice about affordability you were given in your previous post 6 Months ago https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3352618=
Maybe then you wouldn't be in the situation you are in now? :cool:0
