Sim-Free Phones
Options
My DD has been saving all her pocket money and baby sitting money to buy a new phone, so I would rather ask a stupid question than make a mistake so bear with me please (and don't laugh
):
Am I right in assuming that it's possible to put any sim card into a sim-free phone and therefore use it on any network?
Any advice or suggestions welcome
Thanks

Yes you can put any simcard into a sim free phone. It is possible to unlock most nokia phones on here for free and certain other handsets as the sim free phones are usually more expensive to buy than phones locked to one network.0

you may find that if you but from cpw , that they often use sim free stock no matter what network you buy on. check 1st though0

You would be better putting the cost of a sim-free model into the bank and getting a free phone on contract, then use the money to go towards the monthly bills.
That way she will get a new phone, benefit from the inclusive texts / calls and have a decent phone to sell on after the contract, and should make a profit.
Selling a bought sim-free phone won't give you any profit.
But if sim-free is what you want then yes most sim cards will work in it with no problems. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
and with sim free phones, you dont have operators like orange putting all their crap on the phone, which gives you more memory and possibly a faster phone0

I got myself a sim-free k750i from CPW at the weekend! I got a good price because it was sold as a pay as you go phone, but wasn't locked to any network. If you ask in CPW they are happy to tell you if a phone is unlocked or not.
I use my sim-free phone (because I wanted this particular model) with my 12 months free line rental sim. Much cheaper than using it as a pay as you go! (I sold the not very good phone I got with my 12 months free line rental deal on ebay and made about £40 on that. My new k750i cost £90, so for £50 outlay I've got the phone I wanted and all my calls etc for the whole year. Just over £4 a month!)
I agree about not liking locked handsets full of networked restrictions. I had one phone locked to the Orange network which used to drive me nuts because it just didn't behave like it was supposed to!0
