Living in semi detached house, share broadband?

I just thought of the moneysaving idea that say you lived in a semi detached house. Could you pay your neighbour to use their router, like pay half, and share the one router?

Probably not the best idea as if the other party downloads something illegal the bill owner will be liable.0

It will break the T&C's of your broadband contract. Though in reality it can be done and the ISP will be none the wiser. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I know of someone who does this very successfully so yes it can be done and much cheaper too.0

I used to do this with one of my neighbours, I even had an aerial outside his bedroom window to extend the range. He paid me half of what I was paying.
Then he moved and I had to pay another £10 a month for my broadband.
New neighbour is not interested.0 -
I do it now, neighbour pays £5 month, but this is because I trust them and know they will not download anything illegal!0
