My direct debit was stopped and I thought it was for this reason. I am in the Severn Trent area.

I then got a high bill to be paid all at once. I rang them and they said that the direct debit sometimes gets stopped if you are in credit. What a strange system!

I asked them to reinstate the direct debit which they did and just increased the payments slightly.

It may depend on the water company but Unted Utilities charge over 10 months so no payments in february and March, I hope this helps.

Ever thought about getting a metre.

My consumption by metre obviously stayed the same but the cost was just over half.

When I did pay by RV it used to be over 10 months.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
