Very Bad company they need locking up for the undue distress and bad customer service they provide..I decided to renew my insurance with rsa echoice yesterday morning through confused .com,they took the deposit out of my bank ,but never gave me a policy number as the site went down at the same time i was renewing (saying my details and policy would be emailed later) i tried ringing them numerous times ,but everything is done online and the call centre is closed till monday morning,i spoke to someone in the claims department, but no policy number so she can't help after looking on the( mid) web site via direct gov,i am not insured so could of been in a whole heap of trouble if i had gone out today,i'v now got insurance with another company sorted ,lets hope i can get a refund before the end of the month, but not holding much hope!

When you buy/renew a policy the MID doesn't get updated immediately!

If you check ASK MID now, it's doubtful you will show up as insured there if you only bought both policies in the last 24 hours.

i bought the other policy early hrs of sat morning ,to make sure i had one ready for today ,i rang the police and they said it gets updated frequently, but i won't drive the car till my new policy shows up as not taking any chances (even though its a more respectful company)after reading the previous threads i would'nt liked to chanced this company and wish i had'nt gone with them in the 1st place.

Just because it doesn't show up on Askmid doesn't mean you are not insured - if you have confirmation of either policies you have bought you will be covered.

So you are covered by your new policy (insurers have a target of 7 days to update the MID), and you don't have to wait till it's on there before you drive.

Has anyone tried the ombudsman? This sounds like an disorganised business and should not be allowed to continue trading. SHOUT LOUD!!!!

I have registered an official complaint. eChoice have 8 weeks to respond to my satisfaction and if not (which I suspect will be the case) I can and will take it to the ombudsman.

At that point I'll planning on contacting the ASA as the promotion on their website doesn't match the functionality of their website and also trading standards.
