Do I have to buy a new stereo?

I have a pioneer xc-is21md
Its not been used lots & is as good as the day I bought it, CDs sound fab from it.
But I use my Iphone now too.
Can I link my iphone to it or do I have to buy a new stereo?
Also I would love to add a couple of (small) wireless speakers about the house in the bathroom & kitchen just tiny ones. Is that possible or does that require a new stereo too?

Does the stereo have line in sockets in the back it maybe marked for 'Aux' if so you just need to get one of these a Headphone to phono socket. I=Once that is connected just use the Auxillary setting to play the iphone through it.

Alternatively you could use an itrip

The phono lead is cheaper though and a method I use on my system.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

It has some sockets in the front called
line 2 in jack
opt (optical) in jack (CD MD tuner)
line 2 out jack
Any good?
But I can't see how those leads plug into an iphone, is it the hole in the top?
I don't understand what an itrip is!0 -
The line in jack sounds like it can be used, 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack lead, plug into headphone socket and then line in on the stereo.
The iTrip is a wireless FM transmitter, plug into base of iPhone, it then transmit a signal via FM, tune the stereo into the same frequency being transmitted. Can them a lot cheaper on amazon from about £6.
Can buy pair's of wireless speakers no problem.

I bought a Line 3.5mm jack lead in Tesco yesterday (I bought the best one they had). You have to twiddle for ages with the iphone end for it to grab the music (you can hear the speakers making noises) its like the connection is loose.
Is this the iphone socket, the lead or just a common problem?0 -
My car doesn't have an AUX socket, I googled this, but its in Japanese (or similar) so I know no idea what they are saying, but I guess its the work around with no AUX socket.

Do you get a solid connection when using your iPhone headphones?
If no chances are the iphone socket is dirty, you could try cleaning it with a cotton bud but not if you dont know what you are doing.
You can get iphone docks that use the bottom socket, more expensive though.

A neater solution than using the headphone jack. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Not much money difference between that & the jack cable (I wonder if I could take it back). So that is the iphone type connector at one end & into the stereo headphone socket at the other.0 -
OP, Re; wireless speakers. I recommend a couple of Bluetooth speakers, as they are far cheaper in comparison and a lot more portable.

You could also consider a bluetooth receiver for your amp\hi-fi .
