Reclaiming the cost of premium rate texts

A friend of mine seemed to be topping up her O2 Pay&Go account an awful lot. When I checked her phone I found she has been charged for unsolicited nuisance texts.

Checking with O2, I found that she was being charged £1.50 for each text, so I'm guessing she has paid about £100 for texts she does not want.

I got her to send a STOP text. She has received another text from another number.

How does she get her money back? O2 seem unable to provide a list of texts & charges although they did give info via chat about one text, so they obviously have the data.

She has requested a list of charges to her account via a Data Protection Act subject request. Why do we have to do a subject request (charge £10) to get a phone bill? We'll see what happens.

Anyone else have experience of this?
