I've been paying off my CC debt by sending small payments to it via Faster Payments almost daily.
I came to do this today and got the message that the CC account doesn't take payments by FP and that it would be transferred by BACS.
Couldn't find any info about this - does anyone know if Halifax have stopped accepting FP's to their CC accounts?
Sort code for payments is 80-20-45.
Cheers!

You've had more success than me.
When they first announced it that credit card payments would use faster payments, I paid a bit extra off on my credit card bill and it went through straight away.
I did the same last month and it said it would take 4 working days to get there. I did the same today, and again it went by BACS.
They still have the headline on the homepage of their website advertising the faster CC payments. Things seem to be going backwards at Halifax over the last year or so.0 -
802045 is still showing as accepting FPS. There is now no BACS alternative so I've no idea what the message you are seeing is supposed to mean.

I have managed to pay my Halifax CC using faster payments just now.0

Out of interest, are you sending from a Lloyds account, as this message came up for me when sending to a JP Morgan account which is usually faster payments too.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

It was from a Bank of Scotland account to Bank of Scotland CC not Halifax card as I previously said if that makes a difference.0 -
Crap company with crap systems, avoid them.0

I have just set up a payment to my Halifax Clarity card for 1st March from my First Direct account. The page indicates that the payment will leave my account and arrive at the Halifax on the same day.
That seems to be normal for the faster payments I make from FD.0 -
Both Lloyds TSB & Halifax were having a few problems with Faster Payments today thats what people have been getting these types of messages before sending a payment.
Asked on Twitter.. Was told they are looking into - Not tried since to see if its working but guessing from the responses it has.David

It was Halifax Current Account to a Halifax CC account.
Seems to be working as expected now though - perhaps there was a blip in the matrix.I was a DFW, now I'm a MFW :T0 -
Is it possible to stop the bacs payment and resend the faster payment?“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
