If you have a bad back, as I do, I would definately recommend trying a mattress out before buying. Do you collecet Tesco clubcard vouchers? You could turn them into Deals tokens and go to MFI!

A big thanks to everyone who has replied and I do collect Tesco tokens and already have £51.50 in vouchers!!

I actually need to buy two mattresses. One for myself and a single one for my 8 year old son who stays once a week so that mattress doesn't need to be anything special but not a load of rubbish either!!
  • Another vote here for Mattressman.

I went for memory foam and it all but cured my old achy bones.

Superb to deal with great prices and delivery time.

You could try Makro, they often have the Silentnight Miracoil mattresses cheap

    KS was £99 +VAT (so £120)
    Single was £79 I think.

We have just bought a mattress from https://www.mattressman.co.uk

I have to say we were absolutely delighted with the service, the price and the quality of the product.

They delivery next day but you can choose your day of delivery for up to 2 weeks in advance I think. They deliver before 1pm.

The mattress itself is twice as thick as my daughter's previous mattress and is soooo comfy I actually thought about swapping rooms with her!! :rotfl:

We are considering a new mattress as ours is over 10 years old now and is starting to get very uncomfortable and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Obviously you would need to do some research first to see which mattress would be most suitable for you, but this company is ideal if you already know what you want.

Which mattress did you decide to go for melt71? I need to buy a new mattress but no idea which one to go for and would like something not too expensive...

I am looking for a new mattress myself.
I want a pocket sprung model. Once you have had one of these you won't go back to the normal type. The springs are not linked together , so you get proper support all over and no roll-together.
Cheapest i have found is on ebay. Mattressman is quite expensive - they want £225 for the cheapest double pocket sprung mattress ( 1000 springs). Ebay seller comfy-living-uk has one for £164.99 delivered on buy-it-now ( and its a better spec with more springs)

If going for memory foam remember they don't breathe -so you are more likely to sweat. Its natural to move during sleep and these restrict you from doing so too. This is why it takes a while to get used to them.

  • mattressman for me too :j

I arranged a council uplift for my old mattress then ordered the new mattress for the same day. It is so thick I had to buy new sheets :D

I went for a Silent Night, priced at £165 I think.
