Hi, I have just read your thread and want to wish you and your family all the very best of luck and say what a wonderful friend you are. I have absolutely no idea what it must be like to loose your home, especially with children. Your story made me realise how very lucky I am to have a job and my own house even tho money is sometimes tight. This would be my worst nightmare and would hope if ever I found myself in the same situation I had someone like you around. Everyone else has said practical stuff so I'm just gonna ask everyone to join in and send you a :grouphug:

I am glad that at least the hotel is clean and in a good area.

Do keep in touch with Shelter: there are targets for how long families spend in B&B, and they will be able to advise on this, and what should happen next.

Also if the schools are more than 2 / 3 miles away (primary / secondary) from their new address, the children should get free travel. I don't know how that works for temporary addresses, but it is definitely worth exploring.

I watched the BBC1 documentary about homelessness last year, and getting the children to school was a major problem for some families.
