Well, if you change your mind you can drop the ponies off here and I will take care of them for you.

It has been a terrible year for getting stuff done, but I don't foresee us getting much done in the coldest months......sometimes one gets more done after a decent break too, and in the lead up to one. That sinking feeling when you are treading water is a grind. Almost as bad as the fire fighting we seem to get drawn into I between treading water, lol.

Itsme, dont know whether you'd want to get away in the winter when everything has slowed down?

But I promised you a bit of vintage Devon, so here it is

Got lucky with one of the images in that wad of negatives. One crashed aircraft had an aircraft registration number belonging to an RAF light bomber based at Abu Sueir in the 1930s. Just another 100 or so to look through :D

Mind, if this image is representative I might just be wasting my time :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It may be possible but then I have the health problem which having to layer up against the cold can exacerbate. Winter is the time of year which always gives me the most trouble. Summer (when there is one) with it's light clothes & more relaxed footwear is much easier. At least at home I can turn the heating up even if I climb the walls with enforced boredom. The last time I went away in winter in this country I ended up with problems from the seat belt rubbing the layers of jumper & setting things off. The heater sets the old feet to maximum.
Nothing for it you know, I'm a right off.

I'm looking down that street with the feeling I should recognise it ... but don't. I do notice the family association, though, albeit a little before your (or my) time :rotfl: an ancestor?
I'm somewhat distracted by the Zebo ad as I still use that to black the inglenook "furniture".

Oh dear, native on left on 2 wheels. Possible 'Caucasian' in centre who appears to be turning into a centaur :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I hope you have more that are good than bad. Having ghosts caught on camera is very popular but I think they expect something slightly different when one refers to a headless horseman :D

Thanks for the offer, LIR but there are locals who will always keep an eye on the ponies if we go away. Just as well as we've never bought a horsebox & it would be a ruddy long way to lead them :D. Things animal which have arrived here have never left - other than piglets who normally went off two at a time & didn't need trailer sized vehicles. :D
  • Alfie what size feet are you?

I can keep an eye out for a pair of luggs for you, or something similar

Well, she's arrived. If the weather hadn't put you off for life then the idea of facing this first thing in the morning over your breakfast would probably have done the trick.
I hadn't actually realised that one side was a take-the-skin-away job (look through all the photos). I should have guessed being a Hirst, though, really eh?
What the heck are the Council thinking? :rotfl:

Bl***y heck! S'pose shocking people is Hirst's raison d'etre. And me not liking the sculpture would be taken as a reflection on me :(. Not for me!

Well if that's the 'truth' then I prefer Sweet little lies. Sorry, I think it's hideous.

    It tells you more here.
So, I know he does a lot for the locals, employs them when he can etc. but, I'm sorry, Verity is not my idea of what a slightly run down & seedy, fairly poor, Victorian seaside resort needs.
The gulls will have a field day though. They've not had so many handy places to perch at the Quay in years. :rotfl:
