changing from PAYG to monthly tariff ?
i pay about £10 a month, maybe bit less each month for PAYG with tesco but thinking of changing to a pay monthly to be more convenient ,i would like some data allowance though i'm not heavy user of phone so don't need loads of inclusive texts or calls
does anyone have any recommendations for a low price monthly tariff ? a new phone would be nice but not essential, (i see vodafone do a sim only for £8 month but i had so may problems with vodafone customer service before that i avoid them )
thank you

What does "some data allowance" mean? Do you have a rough idea? 100MB? 250MB? 1GB?0

250 or less i would have thought would be enough for my use0

Three or Talkmobile have deals for £10 or under per month with a mix of mins/texts & data.0

It depends what "not needing loads of minutes or texts" means.
There are lots of under £10 SIM-only options - Three, TalkMobile, TescoMobile, Orange Dolphin 7, with various splatterings of texts and minutes in addition to 250MB or more data.
If you hardly want any texts or minutes
T-mobile PAYG with 6-month internet booster (£20 every 6 months)
(maximise extra free minutes or texts by topping in to two £10 chunks in different months before buying your next 6-month booster, get either unlimited texts or 100 minutes each time you top up)
Equivalent monthly cost £3.34 per month for 500MB data access.
OR
Virgin Mobile PAYG with £15 top up for 1 month of 1GB data
followed by
buying £5 bundles from your balance for 1 month of 1GB data
(combine top up rewards and purchasing bundles effectively to make one £15 top up cover 4 months of data access, 1GB limit per month) Equivalent monthly cost £3.75 per month for 1GB data per month.
With both, the per minute call rate and individual text rate is expensive, so these cheap deals only work if you really are thinking in terms of predominantly data-only PAYG.
If you start pushing anywhere near £10 per month due to those odd calls/texts, there are plenty of SIM-only deals that work out better value.
Probably something like the Orange 7 SIM might suit you best.

£7 a month for 150 mins, 500 texts and 250MB of data.
If you are staying within those limits, great.
If you are likely to go over them, avoid.
If you only really need the data, consider the PAYG options above.0 -

This Dolphin 7 plan looks quite good .. are there any pitfalls with it?
£7 a month is nice and cheap ...0
