The CSA are abusers plain and simple. They kept a case against me while I was the PWC for a year. Facts were irrelevant to them, they were out to get me, basically because I was an easy target. I wanted to pay for my kids and when the kids had both moved back to live with me, the CSA could not let go. They do all the cliched stuff that people say they do....like butcher your address so that you do not receive letters (be careful of that one) they will also wrongly date letters as a matter of course....all helps to get you into a fuddle, they are truly unbelievable.

As for dealing with a PD, the drama never stops, just try to see it for what it is and not get sucked in as that is the objective....they will drive you mad and that is when they go 'this what I have to deal with' but over the years, their fabrications and rewriting of the truth wears thin and the children will tire of it. What the kids need most is a steady and strong influence to balance what they have to cope with, which is nothing vaguely pleasant

How can we make payments without speaking to them and without sending a cheque? Can we set up a standing order? They won't accept a DD until we've agreed on an amount (I assume).

I've been making payments on my credit card (I pay it off each month and get cashback on it - very MSE!) but obviously that involves calling them.

I've taken 1571 off our landline so they can stop leaving messages on there (NO idea how they got that number when it's ex-directory).

Anything else I could be doing now?

Thanks again for all the help.

Write to them and tell them what you want to do. Keep a copy of the letter.
Send it recorded delivery, do it today

You need to act quickly then. Write to them asking them what their payment details are.
There is the very odd occasion when you may have to call them. This might be one of those occasions, dont forget to withold your number!!!

Isnt that the number you dial to find out who called you last?

    Yes. The required details are:-

Account name: CSA Client Funds Account
    Sort Code: 40-34-18
    Account Number: 41775448
Reference Number: Use NRP's NI number.

These details are from a Standing Order form I received and on a Deductions of Earnings my company received. As they were the same on both I assume they also use the same account for Direct Debits. Therefore if you are uncomfortable using the above details, WRITE to the CSA recorded delivery requesting a 'Direct Debit' mandate form. That should then allow you to confirm the above details and set-up a Standing Order.

    R.

    Thanks so much.

I've drafted a letter today with the correct calculations (based on quotes from literature they've sent)...I've had to take some parts out so it remains a calm factual letter, although will be pointing out that the reason we want no further phone contact is due to the unprofessionalism and unpleasantness of their staff.

I've also just checked my online banking and I can make payments directly from there so no need to speak to them at all.

Will it ever end....she's tried to split us up, tried to stop OH seeing his daughter (still does), assaulted him, harassed and threatened us, made serious (false) allegations to the police about OH..I've had to change my phone number several times, OH has blocked all her (4!!) numbers, we live with our doors locked and CCTV outside the house.

    Hell hath no fury indeed.

So...letter printed and waiting to be sent RD to the CSA saying the amount we will be paying plus arrears (I'm damn sure PWC thought she'd be getting a nice lump sum but seeing as she's lied in order to get more money she can kiss my ar*e - it'll be over 24 months) and the first installment paid my bank transfer this morning.

    Thanks again everyone!

    No worries,
Should the csa call you, you should hang up. No need to be rude to them on the phone, just hang up.
Do not enter into a conversation with them.
Dont even remind them that you have told them not to ring you
    !!!!!

    Dont speak, hang up!

In fact, if they are like any other organisation who phones you they will ask you to confirm who you are.
How many of your friends ask if you are Mr or Mrs Maggied when they ring you for a chat?
    The correct answer is.....0

    Be alert and be aware!!!!
