Been sent wrong item

What do I do?
I bid on a t shirt for my son, who paid me for it out of his pocket money-cost £18.99 incl postage.
Took ages to arrive... emailed seller 4 times before the t shirt came on Friday.
The top is nothing like the one pictured that we bid on... we bid on a blue top... we were sent a green one!
I have emailed the seller direct twice... with no reply.
Do I leave neg feedback now, wait.. or?
I have never had this happen before, and my son is soooooo upset.
Advice please!

you might want to get their contact details off ebay and give them a call

being on holiday doesn't excuse sending the wrong top! How did you pay? If you have no reply soon and you paid Paypal - do a chargeback and report to ebay! say item was not as described!

    What's a chargeback?
I paid by cheque, don't have a paypal acount.
I emailed them every day since friday, i know that's not long, but concerned because he took his time replying to the 'where is my item' emails sent before!

a chargeback basically reverses your money back from them if you pay via paypal - i recommend you get yourself an account if you do alot of buying on ebay ;)

I explained elsewhere why I have 4 main EBay ID's... http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=37835&page=2&pp=10 .......... And this is a job for Account 4.

Why? because I'd want to know if I was being ignored, so, I would use account 4 to ask the seller a question, a question relating to their goods currently listed, or recently ended. If the seller has goods listed, you can ask about them, if only recently sold, pick an unsold item and ask if they plan to relist, etc, etc, the object being to present a baited hook.

If I get a response, then I know I'm being ignored..................... That's when the fun starts. ;)

Do not leave negative before you have been in touch with buyer. You will then have basically closed negotiations. Get contact details and call. Or ask a question about another item...that is brilliant.

yesterday i looked at seller's details, and noted there was a phone number, land line.
I called, and was told that number didn't exist( suprise!!) so i used his home addy and rang directory enquiries. I then rang the guy again, but got an answer phone, so left a message.
No reply to emails, no reply to phone call....
