The private feedback is mainly on items they have sold, Click on 'Feedback as a seller' which is mainly private.
You are viewing them mixed as 'All feedback'.
But surely this proves you must be able to make some feed back private. If the acct in example hides all his seller feed back, then maybe can you do the opposite and hide all your buyer feed back. This question is how?0 -
No Eye Deer is correct.
Seller is ticking box on his listings when setting them up, to give his buyers privacy.0 -

When lising an item, there is a tick box to make the item private. It's used a lot when selling saucy undies etc or an item where there is a lot of competition and price wars between sellers. It's made clear in the listing that what the buyer is purchasing is kept private, this encourages shy buyers.
You cannot do this to feedback for purchases you make.0 -

Far as I know there is only the option to make your Feedback Profile Public or Private as a buyer.

Its up to the seller to make individual items private when listing.0 -
Dont quite understand what you mean soolin, as sellers dont check your feedback before you buy, so it doesnt really matter what they think. It's buyers who like to check out the seller first but sellers can have private feedback anyway.
Some sellers do actually browse their bidders feedback and if they see a bidder with private feedback will remove the bid. It is not common, but it does happen. Obviously only works where people have time to look at who is bidding and time to get a bid removed before auction closes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Only the seller can do this for each item sold.
So if you buy 5 items and one is from a private listing - 4 will show up as normal - and 1 will not show what item you bought.
In some countries , like Germany i think, all items are private - as its against their data protection laws to display to others what people have bought.
I think what you are suggesting would be good - ie if you could make everything YOU bought private. How many of us have had ex partners etc snooping at what we buy? In such cases though - a new account is the best way, as no eye deer said.0 -

Oh come on now,
Their feedback score is on show, as are the feedback ratings they've left for others, any sensible seller knows private feeedback doesnt stand for dodgy buyer.
Also a huge percentage of sales are buy it now, so seller has no input in who buys, other than restrictions on their shop settings (which dont include private feedback).
It's okay to admit your advice wasnt spot on for once!0 -

We had a thread about this very recently where someone asked how to block bidders with private feedback. opinions were quite divided as to whether such a buyer was dodgy or not.
If you read my posts you will also note that I stated quite clearly that blocking these bidders only works if a seller has time to look through the bidders on their auctions.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. OP the ebay help pages are here:
http://ocs.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CustomerSupport
Before most members buy or sell, they check the other member's Feedback profile. When your Feedback profile is public, you increase the chance that other members will trade with you. It's a good way to build trust. For this reason, it's best to make your profile public but, if you prefer, you can also make it private.
You can choose to make your profile public or private.
Note: If you make your Feedback profile private, your Feedback comments will be hidden, but members will still be able to see the number of positive, neutral, and negative Feedback ratings you've received, and you won't be able to sell items on eBay.
Oh and as per the discussion above, ebay do warn here:
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?FeedbackOption2&guest=1
that This may decrease the chance that other members will want to do business with you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
