I really think you'll be fine. I'm thinking of wrappig the stems in some kind of green tape, just to cover them, but I don't even know where to look to start buying it :rotfl: see I'm such a novice.
If you look on Ebay and just buy 12 foam roses to start with. You'll soon see how easy they are to move, make a display, take apart, make another etc and shouldn't cost more £4.
It depends if flowers are important to you. I really didn't want them and didn't think anything of it until my MOH and BM said they would feel 'odd' not holding anything.... so I said I'd make them just a small posy type thing, I'm still not having anything.
I'm customising with a small photoframe hanging from the stem which I bought off ebay too for wine charms.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

Just made these for the doors of everyone staying in the hotel. They will go in the goody bag I'm leaving them in their room.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
About the flowers, if anyone else is making or has made bouquets, how do you make ribbon around it look nice?
Also anyone know how to make buttonholes?0 -
The items for all buttonholes (8 of them, cost £15 ) it was much more than I wanted to pay, but I'm happy with them.

My button holes were one red foam rose and a bit of !!!!! spray laid on a leaf. I then wrapped the stems with green ribbon and secured with wire wrapped round.
For my bouquets I'm hoping to use green florist tape.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
I have made my two bouquets. I didn't want any but my MOH said she'd feel funny not holding something, so I've made these. Sorry to Strawberry - I didn't see your post asking how to make them. I again ordered foam roses off Ebay, I got ivory and red, and some sprigs of pearl stuff - you can tell I'm not a florist :rotfl: I then started with one rose and just kept adding more, I filled in any spaces with red roses and added the sprigs around the outside. I was going to wrap the stem with red ribbon, but don't think I'll bother. I have a small 1in photoframe with a hook, which I'm going to put a photo of me and MOH and BM in and attached this to the stems.
The ivory ones you got look big and the red ones tiny. How/where did you get the tiny ones?
I have got some "6cm" purple ones and "4cm" ivory ones, I tried making a little bouquet with both, but it ended up very square and could only really see it from the top, then I tried again with just one purple one in the middle then surrounded by 5 or 6 ivory ones, which looks much neater but is tiny.
Can anyone help?0 -
My ivory ones are 5cm ones and the red ones are 1cm.
I got both from ebay. Red ones were ridiculously cheap - around £1 for 2 bunches of 6 which I then split.
I started with one ivory, then add 5 ivory ones around it - don't be scared to bend the wire - they bend back dead easily. Bend the wire stems in a coil around each other to hold (kinda like twisting). Then add more ivory in the gaps of the last 5 to form a third row. Add the red roses at the end at the corners of the ivory ones to fill gaps. Wrap the wire round the ivory stems.
Does that help? Or have I confused you more?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0
