  • I am almost scared to post this but I will.......

I'd never heard of a mango splitter but now that I have, I would almost be prepared to give my eye teeth for one! :o I just CAN'T get to grips with mangoes! My daughter can, my stepmother can.......it seems like everyone but me can.

This would be well worth the money in my house to stop the torrent of expletives and the trail of mango bits all over the kitchen. The children now know better than to ask me for a mango smoothie. :o

Now this gives me infinite hope for us all!!! We all have different needs and expertise, and will therefore benefit from different things!!! I don't need a mango splitter, I'm really quite good at it, BUT in the summer I can't keep up with the ice-cube requirements and have been known to buy bags!!! Shame, horror!!! Actually DH worked out that when they were on offer at our local co-op last year they worked out cheaper than buying ice-cube bags so:p

Lets all cut each other some slack, and acknowledge that each will have different priorities at different times:D

I am one of those mugs. :rotfl: M&S just has the power to suck me into buying a load of stuff that I could make myself cheaper for a fraction of the cost. However from today, it's all stopping. :j

What you could do is freeze smaller amounts- cheddar freezes really well. Or grate some ready in a bag ready for use and freeze that.

It's best frozengrated as cheddar can be very crumbly once it's defrosted. I have a mammoth grating session once a month or so and freeze it. As long as it's not packed too tightly in the bag it's easy to lift out what you need when you need it.
