Nice find, and welcome to the forum!
3 also do a very similar tarriff but for about half the price (with cashback)
12 months 600 mins 3000 texts and 1GB of data
£12 a month but go via Quidco and get £81.82 cashback equiv of around £5.18 a month
However, in the small print it says that the sim is for use in 3G phones so this sim won't be available to a few people, read more here0 -
Yep, I've just gone with the Three deal, no harm in wasting a fiver a month to see if the network is up to scratch (it seems okay, miles better than o2 (congestion heaven) in my local area - you can actually get on the internet using your phone at peak hour!!).
Most phones are 3g nowadays, only the lowest end/older phones are not UMTS compatible; the reason non-3g phones can't use Three is because they don't have their own (and don't hold a license for) 2g network, and thus have to fallback onto Orange 2g where their 3g signal doesn't work - though even this is being withdrawn in all but the most remote of places!!
The Three cashback on Quidco tracked within a couple of minutes for me, and been using the simcard for a week now, received next day. Just glad to be away from o2, 3 signal does have a better footprint and internet is faster, though where you get an o2 signal (there is numerous blackspots lately) it does tend to be a "stronger" signal overall. But with 3 you can get on the internet and make calls wherever and whenever, so stronger or not, o2 is the pits.0
