  • The fact that he car in front is getting closer is a clue to it slowing down. Or like any decent driver does - look well ahead of the car in front and drive accordingly.

If you talk to someone like a Traffic Plod or any other ADI they will tell you that it is possible to do a complete journey without having to use your brakes. (Unless its automatic of course)

    No.
I'm just with the op on this, and honest enough to admit I'm a normal driver, and expect to use brake lights as a visual clue the car in front is stopping.
You're with the OP on this....
The OP who rear ended a car in a 30mph zone and who has only said the brake lights "MAY" not have been working... in other words, the OP wasn't even paying enough attention to know for sure whether they were working or not... certainly didn't notice the car stopping so no attention paid at all to the road...

Your a danger mikey, if you think that kind of driving is OK.
There is no excuse for rear ending a car in a 30 limit, providing the driver is paying attention and keeping an adequate following distance... brake lights or no brake lights.

    Yes, I'm a danger.

    Of course I'm a danger.

That's why I pay insurance, in case of accidents.
What do you think an accident is?
Why do you think you have to be negligent in order for the insurer to pay?
It's something you are to blame for.
    It's your fault.
Insurers take your money, because they'll pay if you make a mistake, have an accident, and it's logged as a fault claim for a very good reason.

Or don't you bother with insurance because you know you'll never need it?

It amazes me how self righteous and judgemental some posters can be.

    Irritation in this one.

Your response seems to indicate you think you can hit whatever you like as long as you're insured. Truly, you do appear to have the worst possible attitude to driving, and your far too set in your ways to learn anything.

    End.
