I too paid PPI with GP without knowing and now it is with the FOS, they have gone after Sterling Insurance who are the underwriters and the FOS are trying to link GP with Sterling Insurance. If there are no link then I think I will have to GP to court because they will not be forth coming. Please let me know how you two get on with GP. Mine has been with the FOS since March last year.

Hi, if my statements simply list the amounts paid to my creditors plus the management fee, is it unlikely that I will have paid PPI? How did you come to realise you were paying it?
  • hi folks did any of you get anywhere with this? i was with gregory pennington for years and ended up cancelling altogether and paying my debts off on my own! i was paying ppi and when i tried to claim on it they said it didnt cover what i needed - my husband had been made redundant but they would not pay out even tho plan was in both our names! that was when i cancelled, i tried to reclaim but was told i could not,.

This thread is two years old and most of the complainants posting here have not logged on in the recent past.

If you've already made a complaint and been rejected then your only option is to refer your complaint to the Ombudsman (as long as it is less than six months since you were rejected).

Hi, I got no where at all with this I'm afraid so I have up :( ombudsman seemed to think they couldn't help either and said I would have to take up my complaint with the individual card companies. They didn't grasp that I thought GP were charging me as part of their management fee. GP also won't give me a breakdown as to what the management fee consists of so I just kept hitting a brick wall. If anyone had had success I'd like to hear about it. K

But your case sounded like you didn't actually pay any PPI…
    "Management fees" are not PPI.

    Hi All

Sterling Insurance has given FOS permission to investigate the claim against Gregory Pennington and the PPI, which was last year.
The PPI will be on entry on your monthly statements, showing first off all as Sterling Insurance and then months down the line has PPI, it would not be included in the management fees, also, what would be handy if you had GP welcome pack and the original letter that was sent to you, which states that as a value client you will benefit from our unique Payment Protection Programme.
Unfortunately, Sterling Insurance are taking a long time sending FOS requested info!
