What feedback should I leave?

Just wanted some advice on what level of feedback i should leave for someone I bought from recently on ebay...

been looking for a specific and rare item the last few weeks and found one being sold by an overseas seller (this is the only one I've found so far)....questioned as to whether it was all in english and he replied quickly saying it was (even put the Q&A up on the listing).....so I put in a bid....only bidder by the time the auction finished and I was delighted (got it for a very reasonable price) so i paid straight away....got an email the next day from the seller saying he'd made a mistake and it was in Italian but he offered to get a certain part in English for me if I wanted.....I declined because I'm looking for the full English version....next day I got a full refund, an apology and an offer that he would send me a free something in the post

Anyway, this was only a couple of days ago so I haven't received the free something yet (not really that bothered about that part anyway), but what type of feedback should I leave?

The emails he has sent me have been very polite and apologetic, and he's already left me glowing positive feedback, and although it hasn't arrived, he has offered me some compensation. The refund was dealt with nice and quickly but I'm still really annoyed because you can't get the item I'm looking for anywhere and i just wish he hadn't got my hopes up.

I'm in 2 minds as to whether to leave positive feedback because he has dealt with the situation very well, or should I leave a neutral because of the initial problem?

Thanks guys :)

In My Humble Opinion, you can only possibly leave positive feedback.

Remember, you are rating them as a seller, a seller who appears to have made a genuine mistake and subsequently did everything they could to rectify the situation in a friendly and open manner...... thus, your feedback should reflect this. :D

Oh Stavros! You shouldn't even have to ask! You are considering leaving negative feedback because YOU are disappointed?????? That's awful!
The seller has done more than was necessary. He should get a GLOWING feedback.

    hi stavros

Wouldn't it have been more annoying for him to just have sent it to you and you find out then? I think that you should bite your tongue on this occasion as the other person would be losing money on fees etc so it wasn't in his interest to lie! Perhaps you could ask him to keep his eyes open for the full english version and email you if he can find one? How was this described? did it say english in the listing? you could put something like "Disappointed with item, but full refund given etc......... or item not as described???

    Get over it hun! icon12.gif

Stavro son. You are behaving in a very childish way. I think you had a super seller and as Angel says, you can ask him to look out for the English version.
Please leave him positive feedback as he made a genuine mistake and apologised for it.

    POSITIVE!!!

He has been straight and honest with you.
  • I would leave positive feedback for him as he has been completely upfront about the item's shortcomings and happy to put things right as far as he can and ..... as someone, somewhere, once said 'to err is human'! I think your extreme disappointment probably has the upperhand at the moment and you really know the seller isn't a 'bad guy'!!

Hintza and Somerset---what sensible posts but poor Stavros will think you're having a go at him. I agree completely with what you have both written.
Wait till Stavros comes across a bad seller!!!!!!!!!
