Cashbacks - has anyone ever actually received one?
Options
I signed up to npower with the inducement of a promise of £30 Amazon vouchers from EnergyHelpline. Over a year later and several telephone calls I am no nearer receiving it.
You may notice that these offers never come with anything written or an email - they just flash up on a screen as an offer and then require you to start filling in a lot of forms of energy consumption etc. At the end of the session you might remember that you have been promised an inducement but have got nothing in writing.
Then when you call them to chase payment of their offer they immediately start asking for a copy of the email *that they didn't send* you!
When I spoke to the enrgy who I had come from the lady said she had heard of this quite a lot.
Would be very interested to know if there is anyone out there who ever received a switchover payment as promised?
Thanks.......WizWard

I had a similar problem with energyhelpline last year. I transferred through them, had confirmation from them including an email. Both lots of confirmation stated the reference number and the transfer went ahead ok. BUT I never received the cashback despite emailing them twice they continued to say that they had no record of any cashback due to me. In the end I gave up but I would never use these people again0

Much better to use a dedicated cashback site such as Quidco or topcashback. I've done several utility switches via the former and always been paid (and usually earned more that way).
You just use the comp site to get the best tariff, then jump over to the cashback site.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
use topcash, I went to scottish power via quidco, they both fell out and loads of us got nothingDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Here is another post with someone having a similar problem with energyhelpline.

As MSE promotes them so much you would think energyhelpline would want to keep their customers happy. Clearly they are not interested in repeat customers and just want to make a few quid and run.0 -
I did my last switch with Uswitch. They did send me an email confrming cash back was due but I had to call twice to chase payment before they finally paid.0

Got mine via energyhelpline -- no problems at all.0

I switched with moneysupermarket.com and got the advertised £30 cashback with no problems at all.0

I switched via Energyhelpline ~ 2.5 years ago...it took 6 months but I finally got the switching "bonus" from them.I used Moneysupermarket for the last( July 2011) switch, going via the link from here. That proved more problematic as I had to chase to get the cashback - at first they told me I hadn't used the link so didn't qualify! ..but I did get a cheque in the end.0
